Chapter 8- Go Again!
“Lucy I am not seeing the energy,” Miles groaned, as he circled me once more. He was in charge of my training today and so far it was going downhill pretty quickly. I was worn out and he was working me more than I could handle, I am not werewolf. “Go again!”
“Miles, you have to remember I am not werewolf.” I panted, wiping the sweat from my forehead. I threw my leg out and hit the bag that was hanging from the wall in the basement. There wasn’t much movement from it but I felt like it was getting better.
“I am not training you like I would any other werewolf, trust me werewolf training is ten times harder.” He laughed as he pushed me to the side, taking my place in front of the punching bag. “You have to think strength,” he slammed his fist into it which caused it to swing backwards. “You have to think energy,” he spun around, his leg hitting the big sack. “You have to know that this person is someone who is going to take the advantage if I don’t attack first.”
I nodded my head and stretched my muscles before taking stance once more. I held my hands up in front of my face in defense before throwing my arm out for a hit. Slight movement… I needed to think about what this was for. This was for my freedom, this was to save myself, and this was necessary to protect the people who would risk their lives for me.
“Who is the enemy?” Miles asked, placing his hands on either side of the sack.
“The ones out for revenge on something not even worth it,” I practically growled, kicking my leg out. This time the bag moved a little bit more, improvement.
I knew that I wasn’t going to give up. I had learned the basics on how to defend myself, how to block, and how to attack; but now all I needed was the motivation. I knew I was just too soft and awkward to actually do any damage to bullies but what if it was my life on the line?
“They want you dead Lucy,” Miles taunted, pushing it towards me. “They want to kill you just like they killed your mother.”
This time the anger was boiling in me. No one was going to get away with just killing off my family, yes she killed your mate but she doesn’t get to choose if she can or not. There was a sudden surge of energy, probably just adrenaline but I took the moment to pull my arm back and throw it into the target.
Miles flew backwards along with the punching bag, hitting the wall creating a thud. The shock took over his face as his mouth open and closed, unable to process words. “Where did that come from,” he gasped, pushing himself off the ground.
