Millie pov: beep... beep... beep...
"Ugh-where the fuck am I?" Enna asked
I sat at Enna's bedside and grabbed her arm. "The infirmary." I told her she tried to move her body but couldn't.
"Shit..." She growled
I helped her sit up. "Don't worry, I'm here."
"Honestly, that makes me more worried." Enna mentioned. For some reason she seemed different to me. She seemed much more humble.
"Are you alright?" I asked her, and she glared at me and sighed at me, almost turning into an angry scoff.
"You are stronger than me." She mumbled
I nodded. It wasn't a secret anymore. I could tell she was upset that I had hid it from her all these years, but why would I show her this power?
Enna sighed angrily. "Millie, nothing to say to that? This is why you irritate me so much-come on, say something to me about this; at least mock me. You should have killed me too, because why the hell would you spare me after finding out I never cared about you?"
Enna's question puzzled me to no avail. "Enna maybe you never did care for me, but I don't believe that you think that. Deep down I do think that you do care about me; you see me as a friend. That's why you are so frustrated and so adamant about being stronger than me."
"Pfft... You're dumber than I thought." Enna scowled at me. The look in her eyes told a different story, however.
"Look, Enna, no matter what you say or do, I'll always forgive you because I know deep down who you really are and what you truly want and besides you told me that we built a long lasting friendship!"
"Millie..." She fell silent. She tried to think of something else to say but couldn't.
"I forgive you, so will you forgive me for hiding my power?" I asked
"Sure-but be warned, I will betray you again." She told me
"So be it; I'll forgive you then too!"
Enna glared at me. Her stare was angrier than before. "Millie, are you that pathetic that you're so dependent on me!? Why don't you cut me off? It would be better that way. One sided friendships aren't worth it. I'm telling you to stop being friends with me because I don't see you that way. I don't care about you!" She shouted
"Keep telling yourself that!" I screamed before pinning her to the bed. She stared at me, her expression changing as droplets of tears splashed on her face.
"I don't care if you hate me; you're all I have!" I cried for her.
"Mill-Millie?" She questioned
"After my grandmother died, I made a pact with the devil Lucie for survival, but not even that could fill the hole in my heart. Meeting you in the underworld changed me. You were different. You approached me, told me what to long for, gave me dreams, and gave me someone to look forward to seeing. Deep down I know how you feel about me, but you're all I have, you are all I have to live for!"
"...I" Enna didn't know what to say once again.
I saw the bedridden girl manage to lift up her arm. She slammed her hand into my throat and began to squeeze my neck roughly. I gagged as she applied pressure. I reached up, trying to move her hand from my throat.
"Millie, look how easy it is to choke you out!" She yelled at me, "I'll prove that you're wrong to put trust in me!" She said
As soon as she saw me stop fighting back, she lowered her arm, letting me gasp for air. "Why did you give up?"
