Pomu pov: I finally got Selen alone-or so I wished Rosemi was attached to her as if she were handcuffed to the dragon girl; they never really separated.
"Pomu, you needed to talk to me; get on with it," she demanded.
I nodded. "Well, I'm just wondering, what is your relationship with Rosemi?" I asked her, and I covered my mouth in shock since I expected myself to try to phrase it differently.
"Friends," such a simple answer, exited from her lips, but I was too stunned to process.
"Well, that isn't all true..." Rosemi mumbled
"Alright, Pomu, it's time for you to learn something about dragons, specifically about mates." Selen sighed
"Rosemi is your mate then?" I questioned
"Yes and no-you see, at a certain age, dragons have to mark someone, and usually it is someone they are very close with, and I was in immense pain, so I needed to mark anyone that offered," she explained.
"Wait... so why didn't you ask me?"
Selen looked away. "I never felt like it."
That is the most serious answer, laziness. "Honestly, I'm relieved," I sighed. I thought Selen and Rosemi went all the way, to be honest, but it's fine as long as it is a beneficiary thing for them both. "Wait, so has Elira marked anyone yet?"
Selen gazed at me and thought about it. "Well, I don't think so," she told me.
"Maybe Elira has marked Pomu," Rosemi brought up.
"Yeah, that seems like something she would do, and there is a strong dragon smell coming from Pomu," Selen said.
"Isn't it because I'm near you?" I asked
Selen laughed a tiny bit, "probably."
"Selen, that is all I needed you for, so feel free to head back to your room and rest," I told her.
"Pomu-yeah, see you tomorrow."
I could have sworn she was going to say something else, but she stopped herself. I turned around and walked outside of the school and whistled.
"Welcome back, Pomu. How was your lecture?" Kiara asked
"It was something..." I mumbled
Kiara let out a small laugh. "You are sorry." She told me I glared at her and frowned at her remark.
"I'm not sorry..." I told her
"I know Pomu-don't take my words to heart!" She told me
Kiara was smiling and seemed really happy. "Did you hear about our shared custom?" I asked
Kiara looked at me and nodded. "I have."
"I know it is in a little while, and we have to wait for it, but I really want to fight you then!" I yelled
Kiara looked at me and thought about it. "You really are challenging me?" She questioned whether her eyes were on fire.
"Yes, we have never had a real match."
Kiara nodded. "Yeah, we've only sparred."
We fell silent for a few moments, but I cleared my throat. "How are you doing?" I asked her
"You already asked me, but I'll tell you again... Calli and I have gotten together, but I don't know if she is really content with things right now."Kiara told me
"What happened?" I asked
Kiara began to explain what transpired when Calli was being controlled, and I balled my hand into a fist in anger.
