Selen pov: The yearly New Year's party is this year; usually I would ignore it, but unfortunately for me, my sister won't let me...
"I'm so fucking tired..." I yawned
Elira pushed me forward. "I don't care..."
"Hey!? Don't push me!" I growled at her.
"Then wake up, Selen..." She mumbled
I scanned the party for my friends and saw Rosemi at the punch bowl. What a pointless addition to a party. "Rosemi!!!!" I called out.
The rose maiden looked over and ran at me, "Selen!!!!" She said at a comfortable volume that she grabbed onto me and began to drag me away from Elira.
"Now, Selen, I want you to-eh, get back here!" Elira hissed
"It's almost the new year, Selen, and you know what year it is?" Rosemi asked
"No..." I muttered
"It's the year of the dragon!" Pomu said as she appeared next to me. I looked at her.
"Is that so? You are an idiot for thinking I would keep up with shit like that," I said.
"Selen, you should be more aware of the year, you know!" Rosemi stated
"Yeah, for you, I will," I said.
Pomu glared at me, grabbing my face angrily. "WHY ONLY FOR ROSEMI!?"
"Because..." I replied as I grabbed her face with my dragon hand and began to squeeze.
"I give-I give!!" She cried
"Pomu, like I always tell you, a fairy shouldn't give a tone like that to an all-mighty dragon," I said.
"Selen, get your fucking stupid ass over here!" Petra shouted
Pomu looked at me. "Why can she talk to you like that!?" She asked
"Because she's a penguin..." I mentioned
"You're a dragon!!!" Pomu replied
"And penguins can kick my ass." I claimed
"Oh, you think you're funny!?"
"Yes, Pomu," I replied.
Rosemi was laughing at the conversation that was transpiring.
"Hello Selen!" Finana said as she appeared.
"Ehhh-do you think you're a character?"
"What?" Finana asked
"I almost completely forgot you existed. To be honest, you always show up randomly and talk." I claimed
"Selen, that is a thing you just said," she claimed.
Elira walked over and pulled me to the side. "Stay with me." She scoffed
"Hold it, sis; it isn't the new year yet, so I don't have to listen to you!" I shouted
"What!!?" Elira angrily shouted
"It's going to be the year of the dragon as soon as it hits twelve, but before then, I won't listen to you!" I said
"She got you there, Elira..." Finana said
"Woah-Finana, you scared me. I'm so used to you being such a non-entity that your voice scares me!" Elira commented
"Should I be insulted?" Finana asked
"Don't worry, they are dragons, so they don't really acknowledge weaklings," Petra said.
"I-The fuck!" Finana yelled
"Good, get her!" Maria said as she appeared behind Petra.
"Oh no..." Petra sighed as she heard Maria.
"Hello, you..." I said.
"Do you know my name?" She asked
"Maria, I just don't want to know it," I said.
"What does that mean?" She asked
I whistled and turned to Petra and Elira. "Soo, where are Millie and Enna?" I asked
"Enna says she doesn't want to see cockroaches, so she opted not to come out to the party," Petra explained.
"Wrong..." Enna growled.
"I forced her to come," Millie stated.
I rolled my eyes angrily. I was going to use this as an excuse to leave since she told me everyone was going to be there, and I told her that wouldn't be true. Besides, most of the class doesn't matter to me.
"Selen, come over here!" Ike shouted
I growled and walked over to him, whistling to call Ember over and "burn him." I ordered
"Hold it, I want to give you something!!" He shouted and rummaged through his pocket before pulling his hand back up. His middle finger was extended.
"Okay, I'm going to kill you." I yelled
"Hold it-Hold it-Hold it!" He yelled
"Why!?" I asked.
"Give this to Pomu," he said.
He placed something in my hand, and I began to blush. "Fuck that," I mumbled.
"Come on, it would make her happy!" He said to me I bit my lip. I want to give this to Rosemi, but Pomu seems to be a little down.
"What are you talking about?" Finana asked
"Oh sh*t-we need to put a bell on you!!!!" Ike told Finana
"Why is everyone like this today!?" Finana asked me I just shrugged.
"Everyone, the new year is about to commence, and the firework show is going to happen, so Selen, get over here and help me!" Elira yelled
I sighed and ran over quickly, helping her. "Pomu!!!!" I yelled as I finished.
"Yeah Selen?" She asked
"You're important to me, and I want you to know that let's stay friends in the coming year and maybe even more." I said
I slipped the gift into her hands, and she stared at the ring. "Se-Selen..." She mumbled
"Okay! Now it's time to see Rosemi!" I yelled
Only to be stopped by Rosemi, she put plants in front of me and mouthed something at me.
"Pomu, do you want to watch the fireworks show with me and the others?" I asked, adding that the others are the last moment.
"Selen I would love to!" She cried with a hug.
As the clock went closer to twelve, it was almost time for the fireworks show. There were about thirty seconds, then twenty, and soon it was time.
"Ten!"
"Nine!"
"Eight!"
"Seven!"
"Six!"
"Five!"
"Four!"
"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
"Happy New Year!!!"
As that was said, the first firework exploded, and I felt a soft kiss on my cheek. I looked at Pomu, who didn't even realize she had done that. I took a deep breath and exhaled.
"You didn't do it properly." I growled
I yanked her in and captured her lips for about ten seconds before pushing her away.
Despite that kiss not meaning anything, I like how happy it made her.
