Elira pov:So far, my birthday is going great. Everyone I invited came to my room for the party-or so I thought.

"Where the hell is Selen?" I asked

"I don't know; maybe she is in bed," Pomu said.

"No, the party is literally in our room; if she were in bed, you would see her. Where is she?" I asked

Rosemi approached me. "Elira, if you want, I can go look for Selen." Rosemi offered

"No-if you leave, I know you aren't coming back. Selen will find you, and then you will leave campus with her. I know how this ends!" I said

"Are you sure Selen isn't in bed?" Pomu asked

"Yes Pomu!" I sighed

Finana walked over and poured herself some drinks. "Well, she'll be back," she stated.

"Will she?" I mumbled

"Elira, if you want, I can go check to see where Selen is, and then I can bring her back." Pomu offered

"No, because you'd leave as well!" I sighed

"Elira I wouldn't leave you on your birthday!" Pomu replied

I looked at her sympathetically. "promise?" I asked

"Yes, promise," Pomu said softly.

"Hello, I'm back!" Selen said loudly that she practically knocked our door down as she entered.

I glared at the lunar sky dragon angrily. "Where the hell were you?" I asked

"Oh, I just decided to go to class and ask the teacher what the homework was." Selen yawned

"That is bullshit; there is no way!" I yelled

"You can't prove that I didn't go see Gundo to ask about the homework." Selen retorted

"Selen, what was it then?" I asked

"What do you not know? Have you not been paying attention, Elira?" Selen asked

"I-You Selen!"

"Elira what? Tell me what the homework is, then if you think you were paying attention," Selen said.

"Hey, how about we talk about something else, Selen?" Pomu said as she slapped the lunar sky dragon on the back repeatedly, but as soon as she did, Selen's tail wrapped around her neck.

"Don't touch me..." Selen growled

"Selen, Selen, Selen, Selen," Rosemi said.

My little sister sighed and stopped checking Pomu out. "Sorry," she muttered.

"I-its fine" Pomu coughed

"Elira, should we have cake?" Petra asked

"Shit," I said monotonically.

"What?" Petra asked.

"I was so busy with student council work that I didn't have time to order a cake, so we don't have one." I mumbled

"Heh-guess who got you a cake?" Selen questioned rhetorically.

"You..." I sighed

"Correct!" Selen stated Selen yanked Millie towards her "summon," which she demanded, forcing the witch to summon the cake in front of me.

It looked normal...

"What did you do to it?" I asked

"Nothing," Selen replied.

I stared at my little sister in utter disbelief. "There is no way!" I claimed

Selen rolled her eyes. "Why not trust it?" She asked

"Selen, we literally go over this every year. Usually, you do something to prank me. What did you do to this cake?" I asked

"Not a thing; look, if you want, I could taste it to prove it!" Selen shouted

"Fine, I'll trust you," I sighed.

"Let's put in candles. How about two? Because that's how old Elira asks sometimes!" Selen said

"Ugh, just do it." I sighed, not wanting to argue with her.

"Here you go," Petra said as she put the candles into the cake.

"Alright, time to sing happy birthday!" Selen yelled

"Okay!" Pomu laughed

"Wait no-"

It was too late, though everyone began to sing happy birthdays, and while that happened, Selen lit the candles herself. "Alright, make a wish!" Selen said

I thought about what I wanted, sighed, and then blew, but the fire wouldn't lessen.

"Elira..." Millie said

"Elira, are you having trouble?" Pomu asked

"No-Hold on!" I shouted

I stood up, took a deep breath, and went to blow out the candles. I did a powerful blow, but still, the flames didn't die.

"Elira, do you not know how to blow candles out?" Rosemi asked

"I do-Selen must have put trick candles on or something!" I said

"Elira, those go out and relight; you just haven't blown out the fire yet," Petra pointed out.

"Selen, you show them how to blow out the candles and prove that you did something!" I shouted

"Okay, if you insist," the purple-haired girl said. She threw out a swift blow and extinguished the flames instantly.

"There, Elira, now try again," Selen said as she lit the candles.

"Come on... what did you do? You are making me look like a fool!" I said

"Elira, she didn't do anything; we have been staring at her the entire time," Millie finally said.

"Fine, I'll use one last powerful gust!" I said

I blew as hard as I could and just barely extinguished it. Everyone began to clap after

"Stop!" I whined out in embarrassment. It seems like Selen didn't actually do anything this time, but the flame was so hard to put out.

"By the way, mom sent you a birthday check. Here you go, Elira," Selen said.

I opened the envelope and looked at it. $500 is pretty good, in all honesty. I need to write a thank-you note later.

"By the way, sis, I didn't get you a gift." Selen said

"Of course not..." I sighed

"I'm kidding, don't count me out immediately!" Selen said it as if she took offense to it.

"Selen, be honest with me, what did you do to the candles?" I asked

"Fine, I'll tell you I just used fire magic to manipulate the flame to make it stronger." Selen said

I'll keep that in mind for her birthday.

"So Elira, what did you wish for?" Elira asked, and I smiled at her, not knowing what to say.

"Well, I wanted some things." I paused

"Are you okay? Your face is red, Elira?" Selen said in a tone that I didn't care for

"Yeah, Elira, what is wrong?" Rosemi asked

"Nothing..." I told her

They all knew what was wrong, but that doesn't matter.

"Let's have cake now!" Selen said

To be honest, I owe her one right now since I don't want those two to know what was really wrong.

"By the way, Elira, I let Ember and Pikl out of their cages," Selen said.

"You what!?" I yelled

I was about to yell at Selen, but then I realized we were going to party really hard. "Everyone, feel free to party as hard as you want; I won't write any of you up," I said.

"Let's do this!" Everyone cheered, and the party finally began.
