Special Chapter: Selen's Birthday

Selen pov: I got out of bed and stretched a bit. I looked around the room, searching for Elira. Oddly enough, my sister wasn't around. I took a deep breath as I sensed someone was in the room with me, and as I felt them suddenly approach, I lifted my arm to block their punch.

"Nice try," I said in a monotone tone.

The brunette owl smirked at me and jumped back about a meter. Her gaurd was up. "Happy birthday," she said as her smile grew.

"Thank you," I told her as I sent my tail at her. She jumped up, dodging the attack.

"What are you doing today?" Mumei asked as she went to drop-kick me.

I blocked her kick. "who knows?" I asked

"Oh, I forgot. I am meant to collect you, not fight you!" Mumei told me

"Ah, well, that is normal." I laughed only to be punched by her. She knocked me into Elira's side of the room, and I rammed into her bookshelf, watching all her books fall.

"I'm not picking those up." I told her I flew over to Ember and unlocked her cage, letting her out. "Let's go," I said.

Mumei led me to the door, and it opened, revealing the gray-haired "cat." I didn't know she would be here. "Hey Zeta," I said.

"Hi Selen, Mumei-senpai, you're late," Zeta said immediately after the owl could only laugh it off as we began to walk.

I let out a sharp sigh, and those two looked at me and said, "What's wrong?" Mumei asked

"Well, usually I am annoyed by Pomu on my birthday, but today nothing; her obnoxious voice didn't wake me up. I actually got good sleep and sh*t!" I laughed

"You get good sleep? Fuck you..." Mumei scoffed. I felt like that was unwarranted, but I respect her for saying that to me.

"Selen!!!" Rosemi called out. She walked over to me and pulled me into a hug. I was confused by her sudden skinship, but I'm fine with it. "Happy Birthday!" She cheered

"Thank you, my Rosemi." I claimed, as I said, that her face grew red and her mark began to glow profusely.

"I-I have a present for you, Selen!" Rosemi told me as her blush grew more and more

"Okay, show me," I stated.

"First of all, I had this custom. Yu-Gi-Oh card made; it has Ember on it. The card isn't legal in play, of course, but I'll let you use it on me!" Rosemi offered

"Thank you, but maybe we should stick to Apex." I suggested

Rosemi nodded, but her expression was sad. "Okay, we can play a few games," I told her.

"Thank you!" Rosemi cheerfully sang.

Mumei silently began to laugh at me. I glared daggers at her at that moment; she was mocking me for being nice to Rosemi.

"By the way, Rosemi, what else did you get me?" I asked

"Well, I made you a birthday bento; the rest is a surprise!" She told me

"Okay, and where is everyone else?" I asked

"That is a secret unless you head to the library!" She replied

The library, of course, is tricking me into entering that forsaken room.

"See you soon!" Rosemi sang as she ran off.

She left the three of us, and Mumei was able to burst out laughing. "You are so simple!" She cried with laughter.

"Hey-she at least got me a gift, and I really like it too!" I yelled
