She wanted to prove to herself that she could be a strong and independent Pokémon Performer, even without Ash by her side.

Hoenn was a beautiful region, with its lush forests, sparkling beaches, and captivating Contest Halls. Serena threw herself into her performances, dazzling audiences with her grace and style. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't escape the persistent thoughts of Ash.

One evening, as she watched the sunset from a beach near Slateport City, Serena sighed deeply. Her mind wandered back to the last time she had seen Ash, the tearful farewell in Lumiose City, and the promise they had made to meet again someday. She missed him more than she had ever anticipated.

Serena knew she needed a fresh start, so she decided to make new friends in Hoenn. She joined a group of local Pokémon Trainers and Contest enthusiasts, hoping that their company would help her forget about Ash.
