Summery: Part 2 of Serena meets Ash's family. Serena has a complicated family that ends up causing her a lot of grief. Ash is there to comfort her. Not much amourshipping as I wanted to focus on Serena but amourshipping is here no matter how brief it is. ( Will have a reference from Girl Meets World)

A few weeks after Serena meets Ash's family....

Serena was in Alola for the opening night of her tour. Ash sat in one of those box rooms you can get when you go to a baseball or basketball game. Meanwhile in the audience was the Ather family. Lillie had convinced her parents and siblings to go to the concert with her. After waiting a bit, Serena finally came up on stage.

" Getting ready for this I wondered what it would be like to perform for thousands of people, I wondered what it would be like to get so lost in it every night and never want it to end. I'm Serena Yvonne and This is my Debut Tour" Serena's voice echoed.

" Welcome to Kalos! It's been waiting for you Welcome to Kalos, Welcome to Kalos!"

" Now we may be in beautiful Alola, but we begin our story in Kalos! And dare I say you have never looked more beautiful than you do tonight, Alola! There's one thing you should know about me before we begin, I was born in 1939!"( Pokémon came out in 1996. but I have researched it and the timeline self takes place in the 1950s so for this it'll take place in 1955. In my story everyone is 16-17 except Bonnie and Max)

In the audience, Mohn Ather stood shocked as he realized his former secret girlfriend Grace Yvonne had been pregnant with his child when he left. Many years ago Mohn and his family lived in Kalos while his wife was pregnant with Gladian and he ended up meeting Grace Yvonne. Grace was unaware at first that Mohn was married and after a few months of dating, Grace discovered she was pregnant. She planned to tell him but she found out the same day that he was married and she broke things off. She hadn't seen him since.  Mohn moved his family to Alola and A few months later Lusemine was pregnant with Lillie.

After the concert....

Mohn took his wife and children home and then he went down to the beach and called Grace. "Bonjour?" Grace asked as she picked up the phone.

" Grace, why didn't you tell me I had fathered a child with you?" Mohn asked.

" I was going to tell you until I found out you had a wife. I told myself afterwards that I would raise Serena on my own, that she didn't need her father. I also didn't want you to have to choose between us or your other family." Grace replied as calmly as she could. She was clearly not happy to be talking to Mohn. " Besides what's your wife and kids going to do if they find out? I do not want Serena to be harmed in any way."

" I promise I will not let any harm come to our daughter." Mohn pleaded with Grace to let him see Serena.

A few days later after Mohn had told his family the truth ( with a lot of arguments between him and his wife while the kids just accepted the fact their father was an idiot) and after Grace had spoken to Serena about her father, they met up at a cafe. It was clear as Serena walked in, that she was upset. Ash had convinced her to try and speak to her father. The father and daughter sat down and talked for a bit until Serena asked the dreaded question.

" Why would you do that to your own wife and kids? Why didn't you tell Maman you were married?"

" Oh Serena, I was a different man then, I had become a father so young when Lusemine and I had Cynthia. I was a weak man and I should have been there for you and your mother without having to give up Lusemine and the kids. But at the time we were having money struggles and when we moved I found work and eventually became CEO. With the money I made I should have sent help to your mother."

"Your job was stay." Serena tried to hold back tears.

Nothing more was said and Serena went back to her hotel, where Ash was currently watching some show about Pokemon singing, doing tricks or other stuff like talent show. Upon seeing his crying girlfriend he ran up to her and hugged her.

" I know you wanted me to forgive him but I just couldn't." She cried.

" I wasn't expecting that Sere, that kind of forgiveness isn't easy." Ash explained as he hugged her tightly.

" Then what were you expecting?"

" Sere, did you forgive yourself?" He asked. This left Serena speechless and she just cried harder. Ash knew that Serena blamed herself for her father not being there to see her grow up and this was his way of getting her to see she was not at fault in any way.

The next evening, Serena was having her last concert in Alola for her tour and midway though the show she looked out at the crowd and she had this to say:

" This kind of behavior is so freeing and you know these days there are a lot of ways for people to tell you how to be. And it is really easy to become preoccupied by these words. These words can feel like they are written all over your face, and then they start to become echos in your own mind and then there is a risk those words can be a part of how you see yourself, the moment you realize you are not the opinion of someone who doesn't know you or care about you, that moment is like you're clean." ( Quote is by Taylor Swift. Sorry TayTay but your speech was too good not to phrase here) Just as she said these words, rain began to fall.

Years later.....

Serena had just given birth to her and Ash's first child, Lara Ketchum. Her mother and sisters already came to visit (Gladian is a tsundre and wont admit he wants to see the baby). Ash had gone to pick up his mother from the airport so Serena was alone. Suddenly she heard a knock.

"Come in!" She called.

Mohn stepped into the room nervously. " Can this foolish old man see his granddaughter?"

Serena nodded and handed Lara to Mohn. " What are you doing here, papa?" Serena asked cautiously.

" I actually came to see you. Your mother said you'd be here. I wanted us to talk."

" What about?"

Mohn was silent for a moment before he finally said " You never should have had to go your whole life without me, I see that. But you have done so well for yourself regardless. I am so proud of you. Grace told me about how you stood up to her in order to fight for your dreams. Gotta hand it to you kiddo, your mother is definitely stubborn-" He was cut off by Serena giggling.

" Serena, what happened between your mother and I is not your fault, I'm sorry Serena. For not being there for you, for everything and especially for ever making you feel like any of it was your fault. Give me a chance to make things right." He finished.

She looked at him teary eyed for a moment before she hugged him and said " I forgive you and I am willing to give you a chance if you're willing to give me a chance."

" Of course I am." He breathed as he hugged her tighter and kissed her on her head.

Things may have been a rollercoaster for Serena and her relationship with her father but things were certainly looking up now.
