Serena had always carried a secret crush on Ash, but it wasn't until she returned to her hometown in Kalos, and caught up with an old friend, that she discovered something that left her both surprised and furious.

One sunny afternoon, Serena met up with her friend Miette, who had also been part of their group during their journey through Kalos. They chatted about old times, and Miette couldn't help but bring up a certain topic.

"You know, Serena," Miette said casually, "I always thought it was pretty obvious that you had a crush on Ash during our journey."

Serena's eyes widened, a mixture of embarrassment and anger bubbling within her. "What? How could you say that? I was so discreet!"

Miette chuckled, "Maybe you thought so, but Ash definitely knew."

Serena's heart sank, and she felt betrayed. "What? Are you serious? How could he have known?"

Miette explained, "Remember that time Ash got sick, and you had to dress up as him to battle? He told me later that he figured it out then."

Furious, Serena excused herself and stepped aside to call Ash. When he answered, she didn't waste any time getting to the point. "Ash Ketchum, you've got some explaining to do!"

Ash, on the other end of the line, sounded confused. "Serena? What's wrong?"

"You knew about my crush on you all along!" Serena snapped. "Why didn't you say anything? You led me on, Ash!"

Ash's voice carried a tone of surprise. "Wait, Serena, I didn't lead you on. I thought it was pretty obvious that I knew."

Serena was livid. "Obvious? Ash, you acted like a dense rock! How could I have possibly known that you knew?"

Ash sighed, realizing the gravity of the situation. "I'm sorry, Serena. I thought you were comfortable with it, and I didn't want to make things awkward between us. I didn't mean to hurt you."

Serena took a deep breath, her anger slowly giving way to frustration and confusion. "Well, you did, Ash. It wasn't fair to keep that from me."

Ash apologized sincerely, "I never wanted to hurt you, Serena. I value our friendship more than anything. Can we talk about this in person?"

Serena hesitated but ultimately agreed. As they met up to have an honest conversation, they discussed their feelings, the misunderstandings, and their shared journey through Kalos. Through their heartfelt talk, they realized that their friendship was too precious to let misunderstandings get in the way.
