"I don't know why but I feel like
I can do anything for you"

SMIRA'S POV

"You guys are thinking about marriage right?" Nana said, her voice was impulsive. It was like she was comforting herself with this question. She doesn't want to hear the real answer but the response she actually wants to hear.

I looked at Aayan sir, he was just as helpless as me. But there was something in his eyes that was trying to tell me something. It was strong and bizarre. The way he was looking at me was like he was pulling me towards him.

I averted my gaze from him and settled my gaze on Nana. I smiled at her. "Nana, I'm still in college, right? I need to focus on my academics " I try to make excuses, to stop this topic. Marriage is too much for this act.

I can't, it started with a lie. I acted because I only cared about Nana, at that time. But marrying him will be too much.

"She's right Granny. Listen to me out" Aayan sir's voice brought me out of my thoughts. He glanced at me, his posture awkward and uncomfortable and so was his face; tense and gauche.

"No, You listen to me, my precious boy. The only thing I wish for you is to see your marriage.-" Her voice was so motherly. She looks vulnerable.

Oww!

"And you my little pie, you can continue all your studies after marriage, right? There's no issue I see here."

"you are right Nana but-"

"you children could not fulfil my only wish?" she asked, her voice low, lost. Her face pleading to give her an answer for what she's been waiting for.

I sighed in defeat.

"Me and Sir- I mean Aayan will think about it. Okay?-" I said, I felt a strong, intense gaze upon me.

I know Sir did not like what I said, but to stop the subject for the time being I need to say something that could have pleased her.

"You take some rest okay? We will talk tomorrow." Nana gave me her cutest big smile. Her face instantly brightened up from pale to shine of a star.

Seeing her happy like before, something got settled in my heart. It soothed me so well.

I turn back without glancing back at Sir. I heard him wishing Nana good night and him matching my pace in just two big strides.

"Pie" I heard a low, soothing voice from behind.

"Yes, Nana?" I asked her back.

"Could you come here for a minute?" I nodded at her. And glanced at sir who nodded at me to go.

She signalled me to bend down. "I hope you will give him what he always craved for. And that's love my pie. My precious baby never got his own person, who could he rely on, Who could be by his side when he thinks of giving up, And I see that person in you. Before I close my eyes, I want my precious boy to be happy, and that's why I need you to marry him. You will marry him right?"

I was speechless. My throat felt so dry, that I could not make myself speak something. Maybe because I don't trust myself for what I will say.
