Akari blocked her ears again, she knew all this, they had to get a body temperature of 39 degrees and a heart rate of 200 beats per minute, it was way too easy. Muichiro and Akari observed the fight between Sanemi and Giyu, and some swearing was inserted. Akari was playing with a pocket knife and saw Giyu leaving and randomly threw it next to the door, Giyu looked stunned for a moment. He tried leaving but Feathers closed the doors and Akari finally spoke. "Who said you were dismissed?" She says coolly and she grabs the air, and as if magnetic to her, the knife goes back into her hand and she continues twirling it around.
Gyomei nodded thanks and started a lecture, Muichiro wasn't even listening to him, he was purely hypnotised by the knife-twirling skills from Akari. Well, not a shocker but Akari wasn't listening either. "This is super boring." Muichiro thinks and Akari smirks, and continues to twirl her knife. Muichiro realises the sudden expression on Akari's face and realises that she is telepathic. "This is how we pillars do, now you may be dismissed," Gyomei says calmly and the feathers open from the closed door.
"Sorry Giyu! I didn't mean to throw that knife thingy!" Akari says guilty and Giyu smiles, Akari sniffs the air, no anger this is a good sign. "I just don't- never mind you won't understand." Giyu sighs and Akari doesn't question it but uses her telepathic skills to find out silently. "In the final selection, I would've died if Sabito hadn't killed every demon coming in my way." Giyu thinks angrily. "If he died, I would've blamed myself for my entire life, HE should've been the water hashira, not me." When finishing that thought Akari embraced him and Giyu's eyes turned a little bit watery.
"Sabito may have been stronger than you in the final selection," Akari says and Giyu flinches in shock. "But his stamina is weak, here you are tracking down upper moon demons and he can't even join any quests here, you have to be stronger for him, if you're completely in trauma how are you supposed to slay demons? You're here and so are Sabito and Makomo, and if you want it to stay that way you have to put the past behind, you can't leave me!" Akari exclaims in the last few words and Giyu nods then says. "You read my thoughts didn't you?" He raises his eyebrows and Akari nods. Giyu laughs when he sees Akari look not guilty at all.
The laugh was pure, unlike some people in the world Akari had met, they were forced to laugh to show that nothing had happened, and they were still alright, and Akari begrudgingly admitted that she had started to do this too. She didn't get why she would force laughs, laughs are supposed to be for people who are full of pure excitement, and fake laughs sound just horrible. "Akari? Hello? You back into your little world?" Giyu says waving his hand in front of Akari's eyes. "Huh? What?" Akair says, and immediately pulls out her katana from thin air, and wooshes her sword into a little shield around Giyu and her, so fast that even water couldn't leak through.
"Ohh," Akari says awkwardly when she realised there was no threat. "Oops!" Giyu smirked at her protectiveness mood and patted her head softly. "Just because I like cats doesn't mean I like being patted." Akari huffed but she was enjoying the pat and glared at Giyu whenever he stopped. "You're eyes are pretty," Akari says randomly and Giyu smiles at the randon topic. "I've always wanted blue eyes, they look so pretty, and I'm jealous, I would like to gouge your eyes out." Akari jokes and Giyu pinches her cheek softly.
"That is exactly what Daki said." A voice calls from the back and Akari turns back and smiles when he sees Tanjiro. "Hey, can't disagree with her, your eyes are also very pretty." She shot back at him and Tanjiro smiles. Sabito appeared and Giyu immediately went to greet him, and they put their arms around each other and walked off leaving Tanjiro and Akari. "Do you want to do a headbutt challenge?" Tanjiro suddenly asked and Akari looked shocked. "I don't think I should- I could kill people with that." She says, her sensible self taking over and Tanjiro nods thoughtfully.
"Well then ..." Tanjiro says after some thought. "What about teaching me how to headbutt better." He says quickly and Akari smiles. "Sure why not, I don't have anything on my schedule." Tanjiro brightened up quickly and his eyes glowed so bright that it looked like flickering fires. "The optimal way to land a headbutt is with the TOP of your head against a VULNERABLE part of his," Akari says and Tanjiro nods his head. Akari made a dummy for Tanjiro to headbutt. "The crown of your skull is relatively strong, doesn't have too many nerves, and doesn't bleed as much as the forehead." Akari continued and Tanjiro nodded again, taking down imaginary notes in his head.
"Which is why you want to let your opponent hit you there if you're forced to take a punch, rather than flush in your face," Akari says, not minding the fact that Tanjiro was already starting to headbutt the dummy, and successfully snapped it, but Akari didn't notice. "Also pressure against the top of the head means that it's in good anatomical alignment with the rest of your spine." She finished and looked back at Tanjiro as if she wanted to see if he was listening. "Oh!" She exclaims loudly. "Good job Tanjiro!" Tanjiro smiled from ear to ear and ran towards Inosuke startling him and making him jump ten meters high.
"GOMPACHIRO!" He screams angrily, making Akari cringe and blocks her ears. Inosuke noticed Akari and dashed towards her, ignoring Tanjiro's distant cries of stopping. "FIGHT ME DEMON!" He bellows loudly and Akari narrows her eyes. She jumped last second onto a large tree behind her, causing Inosuke to crash into a tree. "Oops!" Akari cried and jumped down from the tree. "Is your head okay?" She says caringly and quickly removes the boar mask, and drops it at the look on his face, it was beautiful and Akari couldn't believe he was hiding it behind that ugly boar mask, when Inosuke realised that his mask was gone his expression was a mix of shock and anger.
"Hey, why don't you show that pretty face more often?" Akari says and Inosuke looks angry and tries to charge again, but Akari throws feathers on specific parts of his body that immobolises him completely. "Tsk, tsk," Akari says. "You're hurt, now is not the time to headbutt people, jeez!" Inosuke looked offended and tried to move, and failed.
Akari grabs a mint out of thin air. She put it on his tongue but Inosuke refused to swallow it. Akari sighed and used two hands and crush it into juice before using her mind to make the mint float towards his mouth, making him swallow it. Then she grabbed at thin air and feathers flew back into her hand and Inosuke could move again, he stood up and staggered a bit, and Akari straightened him, and led him to the window of his healing room. Akari gave him his boar mask and he put it on. "Bye bye, pretty face," Akari says sadly and Inosuke laughs.
"Watch this." He says cheekily and to Akari's surprise crashes from the window with a lot of commotion. Akari could hear screams and shrieks from the people inside and found herself kind of liking Inosuke (not love, but feeling affectionate). Inside Genya looked like he wanted some sleep and Akari laughed even louder, and Tanjiro narrowed his eyes, staring at Akari from the broken window. "Hey, it was Inosuke's idea, not mine." She says shrugging and Tanjiro laughs and rolls his eyes. "I'm going to Giyu," Akari says. "Too much drama."
Akari swore that Inosuke looked a bit sad. Akari went into Giyu's room and sure enough, Giyu was there, Akari noticed Giyu looked a bit confused and choosing between two choices. "What is it, sweetie?" Akari asks, sitting down next to him and embracing him. "You won't understand," Giyu says before adding. "NO MORE MIND READING." Akari laughs and nods. "Just spill your worries to you, even if I won't get it it's easier to let it out and have someone to listen to you than keeping it all in," Akari says, wishing that she could spill her worries to him.
"Well, tomorrow is pillar training, I don't think I should train students, I'm incapable," Giyu says truthfully and Akari nods. "Hey, same here, I don't think I'm supposed to be training students, one look at me and they'll just scream demon," Akari says, holding back tears but Giyu can see them. "Sorry," Akari said. "I'm making it all about me, keep going, spill all your problems, I'm here sweetheart." Giyu shakes his head, refusing to make it about him. "No," he says pausing. "I'm here for you, that's what boyfriends are for." With that sentence, they both started sobbing loudly.
