Chapter 18

"Didn't know that Yushiro kun was so protective of Tomayo san." She said quietly and Yushiro widened his eyes in shock. "A-A-Akari Sama!" He said and splats on the ground, into a bowing motion. "GOMEN!" He whimpers and Akari looks a little bit amused. "On the bright side, I can actually see a demon helping a demon without the intention of using them." She says brightly and Yushiro doesn't even look up. Akari lifts Yushiro up and he looks terrified. "I'm not going to eat you." 

Akari says jokingly and he kind of loosens up, barely. Just in time the crow lands on their window sill and Tomayo looked a little bit suspicious. "Don't worry" The crow caws. "I didn't follow her, if I did I would already be here." Tomayo san still looked a little bit suspicious of why a crow was here and Yushiro glared at the crow with his blood thirsty eyes. Akari went to help herself to make some mint tea, she knew that this was going to be a long talk. She sipped the warm tea and decided to sit down and take a little bit of a nap.

After half an hour, Yushiro shook her awake and Akari narrowed her eyes, causing him to jump a meter away from her. "I am not going to eat you!" Akari exclaimed again and Yushiro looked wary still. "But you are the demon queen, Akari Sama, you have all the power in the world, why not kill a lowly peasant demon like me?" He asks and Akari tightened her grip on the chair. "Because I'm not Muzan! I'm not that type of person therefore I won't do that type of thing!" Tomayo appeared behind Yushiro and also agreed. 

"Well it's better that I go," Akari says, and put her tea down. "Sayounara!" She says before a feather cyclone engulfed her and she disappeared. She realised that Giyu was waiting for her with narrowed eyes, and immediately realised that she needed to explain why she teleported him to his room. "It was for fun!" She said and Giyu barely stifled a laugh. Muichiro appeared behind her and jumped onto Akari, forcing her to crash down under his weight. "Wha?" Akari says in a daze and Muichiro sat on her. "Get off me!" Akari said, somehow her voice came out all squeaky. Suddenly arguing voices came into Akari's head and she didn't recognise one of them, she knew the other was Genya.

"Genya and Sanemi are arguing again." Muichiro says sighing. Akari struggled under Muichiro's weight again and Muichiro laughs. "Get off me." Akari said again and suddenly she appeared infront of Muichiro, and underneath Muichiro, where Akari used to be was now full of feathers. Muichiro narrowed his eyes, when he saw the feathers, cushioning him from beneath. "I'm off to repair the brothers' relationship!" Akari exclaimed and dashed off, ignoring Giyu's and Muichiro's cries of stop. "Wow, you're so annoying and I have no brother." Sanemi said and Akari narrowed her eyes. 

"If you keep disrespecting him like that, hoping he's going to quit the demon slayer corps, it's not working! You know what is working?" Akari says softly and Sanemi's bloodshot eyes glared at her, he looked kind of crazy. "What can a lowly demon like you know?" Sanemi says, his voice now all gravelling sounding. "Being friends with that piece of sh!t?" He points at Genya, and he consciously lowered his head. "He really has sunk rock bottom." He said sneering.

"Well better than having a brother like you!" Akari says, then bites her tongue, being angry wasn't going to solve anything. Sanemi opened his mouth for more bitter insults but Akari interrupted him. "What is working," She says calmly, which successfully makes Sanemi more angrier. "Is that Genya wants to stay in the corps to make sure that one day, you'll be proud of him." Sanemi opened his mouth then closed it, but his anger did not falter in any way.

"What kind of role model are you giving to him?" Akari says, her voice growing louder. "What is he going to tell everyone about you?" Akari says, "How 'awesome' you are? Do you think that's what people will believe?" Akari says, feeding Sanemi rhetorical questions and not giving him the chance to reply. "Your students are terrified of you, what you are installing is not respect that you EARN, but terror upon terror." Akari stops for a second to let that point hit Sanemi and continued. "You are not going to receive anything from this kind of treatment. I have been living in this planet for 1,300 years, if your ways were really so successful wouldn't I be exactly like Muzan?" She said, hoping that Sanemi would get that she's way older than him.

"Wouldn't that make the demons so much harder to defeat? But no! I am smarter than Muzan and I will refused to install any of this crappy behaviour to my closest friends. You may feel to be ashamed of me being a friend of yours, but I'm not. I am willing to give you chances, unlike everyone else, I AM YOUR LAST STRAW, your brother has been trying to make you proud without you knowing FOR ALL OF HIS LIFE!" Akari says, and breaths for a moment and Sanemi looked shocked, so did Tanjiro, Genya was just in the midst of crying. 

"If I had such a brother I wouldn't be like you, what happens when he dies? What is he going to remember you by?" Akari says, gritting her teeth and for once Sanemi looked horrified. "I've-" He said stammering. "I've been a goddam monster." He finishes and falls to the ground, onto his knees.

"It's not too late, Genya still has a whole life ahead of him- YOU have a whole life ahead of you, so stop this crappy behaviour and start being nicer to your brother AND YOUR STUDENTS!" Akari finishes and Zenitsu comes crashing in and hugged Akari. "Akari san! Arigato!" He says crying and Akari looked a little bit confused. "Where did he come from?!" She asked and Sanemi, Genya and Tanjiro laughed. Sanemi went towards Genya slowly, unsure what was going to happen and Genya charged towards him and knocks him down to the ground for a hug. "Aniki!" He cried with tears in his eyes and Sanemi had some tears too. Muichiro came in and his jaws feel to the floor.

"You're terrifying." he says and Akari shrugged. "Okay, how the hell did you pull THAT off?" Uzui said, joining the huge crowd and making the brother's feel very self conscious. Akari smirked and then Uzui narrowed his eyes, knowing she was about to do something very mischievous. "Akari don't you-" Before he could answer Akari silently murmured 'Fifth form: Feather cyclone of chaos', and waved goodbye, and Uzui saw him, Muichiro and the others get engulfed by feathers and teleported away from the brothers. "I'll leave you guys to it," Akari smiles and prepares to leave but Genya ran towards her, and grabbed her hand.

"Can I tell him?" He said pleadingly and Akari looked super amused, and nodded. "Tell me what?" Sanemi said suspiciously. Akari gave Genya a nichirin blade, and it glowed sandy yellow, not bright yellow. "I've never seen this shade of yellow before." Sanemi breathed. Genya tilted his head, seeming very eager to show off to his brother, and Akari chuckled. 'First form: Sandstorm', Genya whispers and a huge sandstorm came, whipping Sanemi off his feet and Akari cackled. Genya tilted his head to signal how weird the sound was. "Okay, I'll stop." Akari says, before whispering 'you're no fun', which Genya heard clearly. 'Second form: blinding sandform', Genya says and the sun went straight for his eyes, Sanemi closed his eyes, realising that the sand could be extremely dangerous to the eye.

'Third form, quick sand', Genya says after some pause and to Sanemi's amazement the ground started forming a huge hole, and forcing him to jump back. 'Fourth form: Sand wave', and used his sword to swing a huge wave of sand, and Akari spat out a bit of sand, after the wave was gone. "Think I'll be coughing out sand instead of furballs for a month." She said groaning and Sanemi and Genya narrowed their eyes in amusement. Sanemi looked amazed at Genya's skills but Akari insisted that the last one was the best. 'Fifth form: Feathers and Sand combined buddha', Genya and Akari whispers in unison and feather and sand formed together into a giant Buddah, and when Genya moved, the Buddah mimicked.
