Chapter 24

"You're losing blood sugar! That's why you fainted." Akari explained and Sanemi looked sceptical, but bit into the candy, still staring at Kanae. "Yeah, she's alive." Akari finally said after Kanae looked a little bit awkward. "Am I dead?" He asks Akari and Akari shakes her head quickly, biting her lips. Kanae smiled, sat next to Sanemi, and gently laid her head on his shoulder, Sanemi smiled, enjoying the company of Kanae. "You guys dating?" Akari asks, disrupting the peaceful moment, causing Sanemi to glare at her.

"Sorr-ee," Akari said and backed away to join Tomayo and Yushiro in helping Gyomei, who had crashed into the wall. Tomayo brightened when she saw Akari, but Yushiro looked sceptical. "Why are you here?" he politely said, but looked very annoyed. "You only fight, and do not know any medical things," He paused and stared into Akari's yellow and blue eyes shone at him. "Plus, you'd only fumble and maybe even kill Gyomei san." He growled, finishing and looked at her with a challenging look on his face.

Tomayo gasped and stared disbelievingly at Yushiro. Yushiro also tensed when he caught Akari's eyes narrowing for a millisecond. "Akari sama, I apologise for his-" Before Tomayo could finish her sentence, Akari smiled and waved the apology away. "Please call me Akari san." she smiled, and looked back at Yushiro, staring straight into his eyes causing a shiver down his spine. "I know these parts of medical medicine because I mentored Tomayo." She said in a hushed voice. 

Yushiro's jaw dropped to the ground, and Tomayo looked a little bit amused. "I apologise for my behaviour," he says, and then falls to the ground for an apology bow. Akari looked surprised and immediately pulled him up from the ground. "Don't apologise for curiosity!" She chuckles along with Tomayo. "Now, where were we?" She asked and headed towards Gyomei. "He's going to die," Tomayo said sadly and wiped away a tear. "He has lost too much blood, and I cannot do anything, Akari."

Akari nods and leans her head to the side to inspect the wounds. "Just a bit of blood loss, I'm sure he'll recover once I give him my remedy," she says soothingly and pats Tomayo's back. She reached her hand out, and from thin air she grabbed a mint leaf, leaving Yushiro's jaw on the ground. Tomayo closed Yushiro's jaw, making him blush and she laughed with amusement. "Here, sweetheart. Open wide!" Akari cooed and magically Gyomei opened his mouth, and Akari placed the mint onto his tongue, and asked him to swallow.

Gyomei suddenly opened his eyes, and then almost looked shocked when he could see Akari's face. Tomayo also gasped when she saw that Gyomei's irises' colour was now aqua green, and his eyes were twitching in shock. "I-" He said gasping, and then stopped because tears were flowing in his eyes. "Thank you," he said staring at Akari, and she waved it away as if it was nothing, but to Gyomei it was everything. Gyomei stood up and went off to the battlefield again, it was so clear about his newly added feature that even Muzan stopped attacking to stare at his eyes.

"Sh!t, what happened to Gyomei?" Sanemi asked as he helped a student onto his feet. "What happened to him, was what happened to Kanae," Akari whispered, with an air of mystery in her voice, and then added. "Nemi." Sanemi looked at her with a murderous look that said everything about his feelings. "You need to teach me how to give people murderous looks." Akari joked, and even Sanemi started smiling and then patted her head. "Seriously how many people did you tell?" She screamed at Giyu, and Giyu twitched his lips into a small smile.

"More than enough." Sanemi chuckled as he saw Akari bite her lips in anger. Genya blinked twice in confusion because this was the first time he had seen his brother like this. "I'm going to get you back!" Akari squeaks, and then closes her mouth awkwardly, then blushed deeply because of her squeaky voice. "Fu¢k, can this get even weirder." she sighs and buries her face in her arms, Sanemi sniggers and pats her on the back. Genya was still processing everything with small blinks, and Kanae supported him, just in case he fainted.

She sensed that Obanai had already lost his vision, making Akari almost lose grip of her needles, due to her sweaty palms. Akari was calculating how she was supposed to help him, but realised, even before turning, that he was so smart, that he was using his snake to be his eyes. "He may be smarter than you!" Akari jokes and Shinobu goes full-on glare mode at her, only causing her to chuckle even more.

"Would you like to taste the poison that I wanted Douma to eat?" She hissed and Akari licked her lips, and Shinobu's face widened in fear. "Haha, I wouldn't want to chew on your poor little chubby cheeks." She teases Shinobu, only to be wooshed and sliced by Shinobu's katana. To Shinobu's surprise, she can't poke the poison through the flesh of Akari's body, no matter how hard she tries.

Suddenly when the crow announced 40 minutes until sunrise, Muzan ran, and Akari narrowed her eyes in amusement. "He's nothing but a coward!" she thinks and sees Kanae smirking next to her, probably thinking the same thing. Akari uses this chance to check on Obanai. "I'm fine!" he gruffly says, and Akari tells him that only she can tell him if he is fine or not.

She murmurs lots of breathing forms, and Obanai inhales the scent of mint and is in paradise, and almost forgets about pain and suffering. Kanae looked interested in Akari's breathing forms but didn't want to disrupt her in healing Obanai. After ten good minutes, Obanai woke up from a dream and opened his eyes. "Wait I thought I was blind!" he exclaimed and looked at Kanae and Akari.

"Well, now you're fully recovered!" Akari purrs and Obanai smiles, and then realised his mask was lost somewhere. "Now that's a smile I rarely see coming from you Obanai san!" Akari says, and Obanai smiles a little bit wider, causing everyone around him to smile too, like a chain reaction of smiles. "Where's Tanjiro? And that coward Muzan?" Obanai growls and Akari reassures him, that Tanjiro will be fine.
