Chapter 23

Muzan drastically elongated both his arms, growing spiky red or white coverings around his extended limbs and shapeshifting his hands into bladed protrusions, and swinging them like whips to slash apart his targets. Muzan was aiming at Akari, because he wanted her to eat her words about him, painfully and one by one. Akari easily dodged all his arms and started running on one of his. She bent down gracefully to dodge one arm coming her way and touched the arm she was standing on.

The arm started turning blue and was quickly heading towards Muzan's body, surprisingly, the position was making Muzan feel very sick and weak. This forced him to cut off one of his arms, in fear of being killed or injured. "Haha, good thing you've got the brain cells to realise that." Akari taunted and Muzan tried to look like it wasn't a big deal. "My Uppermoon has defeated four of your hashiras," Muzan smirks proudly and Giyu's eye twitches because Sabito was one of them.

"Really?" Akari asks, and Muzan nods proudly. "Then why are they here?" Muzan looks back and sees Sabito, Makomo, Obanai and Mitsuri charging in, full of blood but alive. Muzan realised that could only mean one thing, Nakime was dead or failed to defeat the four hashiras. Obanai leapt in front of Tanjiro protectively and stared at Akari. "Go your demon arts! Save his eye!" he hisses and Akari looks at him dully. "He's already healed!" She exclaimed and Tanjiro narrowed his eyes, then realised she was correct.

Suddenly Yushiro's voice broadcasted into the room, and Akari realised that he was manipulating Nakime, and smiled. "Good job Yushiro!" She broadcasted and Yushiro smiled, finally realising that Akari wasn't a danger. She ran side by side with Tanjiro, smiling every time and Tanjiro smiled at her too. Suddenly one of Muzan's arms came towards Tanjiro, without hesitation Akari took the blow and smiled. "Wha-" Tanjiro said without even realising, and saw there was not a single drop of blood on Akari.

"Everyone!" Akari said in a normal volume, but it broadcasted everywhere. "The castle is going to blow up, be safe." Tanjiro's eyes widened, and a few minutes later, just like what Akari said, the whole building collapsed and exploded. Seconds before, Akari held onto Tanjiro's arm leapt into the air, and jumped a few kilometres away from the castle. 'Where is Muzan?" Tanjiro asks, and as if Muzan heard, he explodes out of the mess. "He looks like he's gone feral, so pathetic." Akari sighed, and Tanjiro laughed weakly.

"Do you think you can keep me until sunrise?" Muzan challenged, and Akari smiled, "It'll be easy," she muttered. Suddenly, all the hashiras advanced towards him, and Akari tried to protest but they didn't hear. "They'll find out soon enough..." Akari sighed, and the hashiras' expression turned into fearful glances and Muzan attacked them. Akari sighed, it was up to her to stop them from dying. She grabbed one of Muzan's arms and flung him a good few kilometres away from the hashers. "Keep your filthy arms off them." She smirked and Muzan's eyes boiled.

"These pillars have saved us countless times!" A small voice says. "If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be alive! Don't be afraid of fighting!", Akari loved the fearlessness but she knew they wouldn't survive. "No! Stop all of you!" Mitsuri exclaimed and Akari also loudly protested, Muzan looked at Akari and reared up his attacks. "Fu¢k!" Akari screamed and waved her hands, and feathers engulfed all the students, and Akari sent them somewhere far away, and safe. Muzan then explained how those kids would've been so fortunate and then pointed towards Tanjiro, who had soaked Muzan's blood and was close to dying. Akari nodded at the hashiras and made her way towards Tanjiro.

"Tanjiro, sweetie," Akari whispered to Tanjiro, with his mom's voice. "It's time to wake up, your friends are in danger." Tanjiro slowly opened his eyes and saw Akari and at that moment he realised she was the one who saved him from the injuries from the hand demon. "It was you-" he choked and smiled weakly, Akari nodded and touched his injuries, and they disappeared. "Rise my child, your friends need you." Akari continued, and Tanjiro obeyed, slowly standing up, and Muzan's jaw dropped.

"Who the fu¢k are you?" Muzan asked and finally, Akari looked at him and replied. "I'm Akari Tokito, not your sister, I am your worst enemy, I am the sister of Muichiro Tokito." She removed her mask, and her blue and yellow eyes shone brightly. Tanjiro and the other hashira's jaws dropped to the ground and Akari looked a bit confused. "What? You guys never seen this?" She asks and they nod in agreement. Suddenly, Gyomei, Sanemi, Kyojuro, Muichiro, Tengen and Genya came.

"Finally!" Akari exclaims. "What took you?!" Genya and Muichiro just looked angry that Akari got here before them. "Life," Sanemi growled, cut Muzan in half, and then burned him. "That's so dirty," Muzan growled and Sanemi replied that it was perfect for the likes of Muzan. Suddenly Muzan attacked more violently, and Akari smiled wider. Akari was enjoying this when she realised that one of the arms was going towards Sanemi, she summoned Chachamaru to save him.

"Fu¢k!" Sanemi swore, and Muzan growled with irritation realising that Tomayo had ruined his plans again. Akari caught three people, Zenitsu, Inosuke and Kanao in the mist, and Muzan caught it too, after a few minutes of his brain turning and being dumb. Suddenly, Sanemi and Giyu crashed their swords together, making Giyu's sword turn red. Akari was bored, and came towards the small party of students, Yushiro and Tomayo, trying to help the fallen hashiras.

"Looks like you guys need a hand." Came two voices from the back, Akari turned and saw the two Kochu sisters, and Kanao behind. "What took you?" Akari smiled and Kanae laughed for no apparent reason. Sanemi turned back, and his eyes widened in shock, and happiness and was overflowing with joy, so much that he blacked out. "Oh my-" Akari said, grimacing and dragging him away from the battlefield.

"Nemi?" Sanemi heard his name being called, his first thought was who, and then another prod came, a little bit harsher than the last. "Nemi!! Come back!" Sanemi finally realised it was Genya, and Akari huffed, and lightly pinched his arm, chasing him to flinch, and grumply open his eyes. "Ouch! That hurt!" He growled, and Genya, and Kanae both sighed with relief. "Here eat some sugar," Akari says, giving him some candy, and Sanemi looked at her as if she was crazy.
