Chapter 9

"Hey, demon get your weapon, you're gonna need it." Muichiro sneers loudly and Akari narrows her eyes. "Don't insult me, I've been twelve for 1,200 years, and you? Not even two decades." Akari says, kicking Muichiro and making him lose his footing again. "All your techniques are good, except your focus, That's a pity, I could KILL you right now," Akari says, hoping harsh words will get into his heart, To her satisfaction Muichiro narrowed his eyes more, internally focusing now. Akari attacked and he dodged just in time.

"You're lucky, make sure you have more time or else you would've died." Akari snarls again, and attacks this time Muichiro ducks under her legs, and appears behind her. He swings his sword but Akari uses one finger to block it, and Muichiro inwardly gasps. "Never underestimate your opponent, don't stay in shock, the more time you are unfocused the less possibility to kill the demon," Akari says and throws the sword.

Muichiro runs and faces his back to Akari, and Akari knocks him to the ground and glares at him. "What are you? Seven?! Didn't your mentors tell you to never face your back to the opponent?!" She sneered, and Muichiro kicked her so hard and fast that Akari lost her footing and tumbled towards him, Muichiro seized his sword and pierced her through the chest. "Good, I guess you aren't that bad after all," Akari says smiling, she expected Muichiro to loosen up, but he goes under her and chops her head off, still bracing for an attack. "Muichiro, you're getting better already!" Akari says, and in a cyclone of feathers, her head is back again.

"Very good, I'm not gonna say you have no room for improvement 'cause you do, but you have a bigger chance of living." She says evilly, and Muichiro suppresses a shudder. "See, I knew you still had a weakness," Akari says grinning with satisfaction. "Now you will die!" She says. Muichiro dodges her attacks and backflips to her back, but she whacks him, and he falls, losing his footing. "Another lesson, when defeating upper moons or Muzan, don't get too close, we have eyes on the back of our heads," She says, and whispers 'First form: Mint cyclone', and Muichiro realised his bruise was gone. "Oh look!" She says loudly. "You're like a demon sword man!" Muichiro looked at the puddle and saw that he had horns and a mark.

"You did good, Muichiro, Sorry for all the nasty words I said, you just weren't listening," Akari says sadly. "Don't hate me." She says with tears. "No, you were right, I was- never mind, I would never hate you. Arigato Akari." Muichiro says, bowing down, but Akari stopped him. "You can't bow to a demon, sweetheart." She says bitterly. "I'm sorry for calling you a demon-" Muichiro says. "No it's not that, I'm just a coward, can't even kill my brother, Every full moon I meet him, and he's killing so many children and people-" With that Akari started sobbing like mad, and Muichiro looked super shocked, not because of the meeting every moon but the killing her brother.

"He's your brother?!" he exclaims loudly. "Hai- I WILL kill him, that spoiled brat that- that- always looked out for me-" Akari stops and looks up at Muichiro with such admiration that Muichiro gets a feeling of shock, that knocks his breath out. "For all that you will happen, imouto-chan," Muichiro says softly and tightly embraces her. "You would- w-want me? As your 'little sister'? A demon?!" Akari says, sobbing even louder. "Of course who wouldn't?" Muichiro says enthusiastically. "Muzan, that's who," Akari says darkly. "You don't need him, you have me," Muichiro says lightly and Akari nods lightly a look of ambition comes to her eyes, and she nods more surely. "I'll kill him." She says softly, and Muichiro embraces her again and wipes away her tears.

"Kyojuro!" Akari screams at the top of her lungs. "Your training time!" She waved Muichiro goodbye, but before tightly embracing him kept saying 'I have a proper brother'! Over and over again. "Konban wa, Akari san!" Kyojuro says smiling widely, Akari bowed in response, and then she felt a sense of unease "Is it okay to train someone so kind? To taunt them when all they did was be kind to you?" Akari blinked and narrowed her eyes, "It's for his good" She nodded and looks at Kyojuro. "I believe your motto is 'Stronger protects weaker', right?" She asks and Kyojuro nods enthusiastically.

"This is true, but risking your life for them? Maybe we could fix that tinnie weenie little misinterpretation." Akari says, still unsure if she should go on. "If the demon is way too powerful, you don't headbutt into danger, you train hard, The danger isn't going anywhere, but your life might. 'Stronger protects weaker', can only function if we HAVE a 'stronger one', if you're dead, wouldn't that mean that the weak will suffer for it?" Akari says, and Kyojuro considers that for a second and nods his head slowly.

"This training we'll be seeing how to defend, so you won't get killed by another d@mn basketball," Akari says, and Kyojuro cracks a smile. Kyojuro resembles his attack position and Akari attacks, but seeing that Kyojuro was only defending makes her feel even more worried. "Kyojuro sweetie, don't be shy to chop me, I'll regrow, but even if your defending skills are fantastic, you have to attack someday, or else who is going to protect the weak?" Akari says, deciding not to taunt him. Kyojuro was wary for a second and then assembled his attacking positions, setting his sword on fire.

Akari weaved across the flames, and to her amazement, she saw a flaming tiger. "Wow! So pretty!" She says weaving across, and landing in front of Kyojuro, he swerves his flaming sword and quickly slashes a deep wound in Akari's left shoulder. "Wow-" Akari thought "This guy is fast-" She quickly regrew her lost shoulder and ran around him, hoping to make him dizzy. To her shock, Kyojuro didn't even move a muscle and conjured a flaming beast. When she looked back she saw in shock that Rengoku had the mark and a demon scent.
