Within days of getting the Volcano badge, the group finally reached their next and final badge in Viridian City. Upon arriving, they took a look at the city. "Oh, what can we do first?." said an excited Yellow, who had already darted away with Amy and Zola to do some shopping together, leaving the others confused and dumbfounded. "What...What just happened?" says Crystal as she and Mizu just watched them run off, "Well, I guess we should get to the hotel." said Crystal, with Mizu nodding in agreement. After Crystal and Mizu enter the hotel and try to relax, the hotel room door opens with the other girls returning from their shopping spree. "What at all of the new clothes we got." they all say in unison, and then they accidentally drop their stuff on top of Crystal and Mizu. Looking around, Zola couldn't see Crystal or Mizu. "Um...Where's Crystal and Mizu," she said, looking around more; they then heard muffled voices and noticed their arms sticking out of the stacks of clothes and wiggling. "Oops..." they all said in unison.
The following day, Crystal and Mizu awaken to the sound of breakfast. They both get up and put on a change of clothes. "Wonder what's for breakfast, sis." said Mizu, who was out of the bedroom before Crystal could answer, "Oh jeez, not again, never wait until I answer back," she said, then sighed as she joined her sister into the next room. "Well, it's about time, sleepy heads," said Zola, who was enjoying some miso soup, steamed rice, natto, and seaweed salad with the others having the same breakfast, "So...Are you ready for the final badge Mizu," said Amy waiting for Mizu to answer. "I'm so hyped for the battle, I just can't wait," she said, then finished her miso soup.
With everyone all fed and ready for the day, Mizu darted out the door, followed by Macechu and her Pikachu. "Can she just sit down for more than five seconds?." Yellow said as she finished brushing her hair. Everyone else nodded in agreement, and then they tidied up their mess; they all hurried to catch up with Mizu. Mizu finally stopped running and found her way outside of the final gym. "Wow, this place is huge," she said, then headed inside. Her Pikachu hopped on her shoulder, and Macechu landed on her head. The others finally caught up with them, and they wouldn't be able to run if they could. "Just. Where. Does. She. Get. This energy." Yellow said as she just caught her breath but then noticed her hair. "Oh c'mon, I just did my hair this morning," she said, then pouted and entered the building with the others.
With the group now at the gym, they look around to see how pretty the gym looks. "Oh wow, this place is amazing," Zola said, then the group suddenly heard doors opening from the other side of the field; as they looked, they saw a seven-foot-tall woman coming through the door and standing at her square spot. "My name is Vela, your final opponent. Now, who is my challenger?" she said as she looked at each member. Mizu stepped up to her side of the field with a PokeBall ready. "I am," she said with a lot of confidence. Vela shrugs with a look of emptiness and then brings out her first Pokemon - Nidoqueen. Nidoqueen stomps around, getting all pumped up and ready for battle, "Your final battle with me is a four vs. four battle." Vela said as she crossed her arms.
Mizu is all pumped up. She throws her ball, bringing out her first Pokemon - Jolteon, Mizu- and then just remembers she has this Pokemon. She then quickly covers her ears, leaving Vela confused with her eyebrow cocked; Yellow rushes up to her sister and then yells. "WHEN DID YOU GET THIS POKEMON," she said, then placed her hands on her hips, waiting for Mizu to answer. "Um...I forgot." Mizu said, sheepishly laughing, and rubbed the back of her head. Being her loveable sister, Yellow just gave Mizu and punched the head, leaving a lump on the back. "Ow ow ow ow," she said, holding her head from the pounding headache, and then Yellow walked back to the others. Vela just shrugged and then looked at the field. "Nidoqueen, use Hyper Beam." she said calmly as Nidoqueen opened her mouth and fired her beam at Jolteon, "Use Quick Attack to dodge, then use Thunderbolt." Mizu said with panic in her voice, hoping Flareon wouldn't get hit, "Nice try." Vela said as she watched Nidoqueen turn her head toward Flareon, then fired another Hyper Beam.
