Chapter 4: A Heartwarming Reunion

On the eve of the tournament, some more trainers arrived at the registrar before the game started. Upon arriving, Misty and May entered the Pokemon Centre and then signed up. "Excuse me, Nurse Joy, could you tell us where the Champion lives?." says a happy May. "Oh? Would you have an appointment," she asks, looking confused, but she gets her answer with a nod from both girls.

Oh! in that case." she then points to a man looking at the tournament posters. "You can ask her son over there," she says happily, shocking both of them that Cynthia even has a son. "But how...when?.?" says Misty, still in shock, looking confused. Then Nurse Joy sees the problem. "Oh my bad, he's adopted," she says. Then she leaves to finish her work while Misty and May approach the man, and May taps on his shoulder.

Turning around to see who was tapping his shoulder, Ash almost had a heart attack after seeing Misty and May again, but he recollected himself. "May I help you two?" he says, then his trusted Eevee climbs up to his shoulder and waves its little paw to say hi to the girls, "AW...He's so cute." says an exciting May as she picks up the Eevee from Ash's shoulder but the Eevee has no problems as it's used to the attention then Misty clears her throat looking at the owner. "Um...So...Yeah, we have an appointment with your Mother. We would like you to take us to see her, please," she says, snapping Ash out of his trance after May surprisingly picked up his Eevee.

"Er...Sure, just follow me. His name is Red, by the way," he says, leading the girls to his mother's house, but he leaves Eevee in May's arms. As he looks at his Pokemon, he can tell he enjoys the new company. Then Misty comes up beside him while May is being playful with the Eevee, "So...You do look familiar, Mr Red." she says, getting Ash's attention. "And who do I look like to you, miss?." he says in a polite response. The question receives May's attention as she comes up next to them and looks at Red.

Misty then looks down while walking. "Someone we both loved." She says, making May look sad too, but just as they reach Cynthia's home, Red stops as May and Misty turn around to look at him. "What's the matter, Red?." said a worried May, "I just know you both are gonna kill me for this," he says, confusing both of them. Still, Red uses his aura powers, changing his appearance to his original self. Eevee jumps out of May's arms and waits to see what they will do, but Eevee is very surprised at what they did. "ASH!?!." they both yell.

May and Misty run towards Ash and then tackle him to the ground with joyful tears running down their faces. Just as Eevee is about to see what's going on, he gets picked up by Cynthia, who wants to see what the noises are about. Cynthia smiles after seeing what happened. "Don't you ever leave us again," says Misty, sitting on her knees. Then Ash wipes the tears off their faces. "Please forgive me for not telling you both. I still love you both with all my heart." hearing this from Ash, they hug him as he embraces them back.

Cynthia giggles and then clears her throat to get their attention. "If you three are done making up, maybe it's best to get inside." she then smirks at them, making them confused about why she did that. Still, they get up anyway and head inside after explaining Cynthia's intentions of inviting May and Misty to her home, which was set up for Ash to see them again. Ash just sweatdrops. "MOM!...! he says annoyingly but is grateful for her choice to invite them. Then May and Misty both hug Cynthia, confusing her. "Thank you for looking after our Ash," says May with a happy smile once again.

Misty smiles at Cynthia for taking care of Ash for them. Still, Misty shows an evil smirk on her face, and Ash reveals a confused look. Then May does the same smirk, confusing Cynthia. Cynthia then uses her aura powers to see their aura. Still, all she could do was giggle and then look at Ash. "Honey, make sure you take care of them." she smiled, then took Eevee with her as she left for a meeting. "I'll be back for dinner. You three enjoy this reunion." with that, she closes the door behind her, with Ash slowly backing up after he sees their aura and gulping.
