"I'll pretend being with you
doesn't feel like drowning
Tellin' you it's nice to see
how good you're doing
Even though we know
it isn't true."

The day was finally over. Everyone had gone back to their hotels, houses, whatever. The Diaz family said goodbye to their family, as most of the family was flying out early the next morning.

The friend group did talk again. Apologies were exchanged, and hugs were given. Mateo and Josie hugged for the longest, which Rosie allowed, and he did promise to call more.

Eddie sat in Chris's room, telling a story to the young boy who had just finished crying over his miss for his mother.

Jo on the other hand didn't cry. She was kind of done crying. Probably because as she laid in bed she watched her Mother, that her mind had conjured up somehow. Shannon stood next to Josie's bed, looking out of the blinds, telling a story about her and Eddie.

"We were so in love Jo. God, we were just kids but we loved each other. And it only increased when we found out we were having you. Did I ever tell you about the day you were born?"

Jo doesn't respond to her, since Shannon never even looked at her, but she does tighten the ball she's wrapped in and pull the covers between her chest. "I was at the pool with my mom, trying to get the best time together, since she was sick then. And I didn't feel my water break, since I was in the water so all of a sudden I got this huge pain that shot threw my whole body. Gosh Joey it was terrible."

Jo's face lightly cringes up but drops down instantly. "So we got out of the pool and I sat down on one of the loungers and squeezed my mom's hand so tight. The whole time she just kept saying 'I'm calling an ambulance Shay We need to call 9-1-1." But I just kept saying no. Cause do you know how much money an ambulance costs Josie?"

"Josie?"

"Josephine!?"

Jo spun around and looked over to her father who was standing at the door looking at her with a crazed expression. "You didn't hear me calling your name?"

Josie pulls herself up to sit straight up on the bed. She closes her eyes and shakes her head. "Uh, Sorry."

Eddie walks towards her and sits on the bed next to her with his legs hanging off the bed. "You sure you're alright?"

Jo looked over to him and then to where her mother was, but the space was now empty, and all that stood there was a desk with a broken mirror that she still hadn't cleaned up. "Yeah, I just was daydreaming, I'm okay." Her eyes flicker between her dad and the empty spot. Eddie's eyes follow her over to it and then back to Josie.

He moves passed it and lays down flat on her bed, despite the lumps and blankets all bundled up. "I hate to say it but I'm glad that's all over. And I know you are your brother are too."

Jo takes a deep breath out and leans against the backboard of her bed. "Maybe my mind can finally take a break."

"Maybe it will stop telling you to punch someone."

Jo looks down at her father, her lips pinched in her mouth. "Sorry."

"You wanna talk about it?"

Josie shakes her head, while looking down at the blanket she's picking at between her fingers.
