"Today we stopped this 15-year-old kid who stole his dad's collectible car whose brakes failed while he was going 100 on a main road," Eddie spoke while he swept around the kitchen island where his daughter sat crisis cross.

They were about 1 month into summer and Jo was going crazy.

Not crazy like seeing your dead mon crazy.

Well, that type of crazy too.

But she was just bored and tired.

Who knew she could sleep 12 hours straight?

"The kid's dad was so upset over him. Like dude, your kid is about to die and you're seriously worried about the car." Eddie rolls his eyes, mainly speaking to himself since his daughter is staring off into space.

"Really, I don't care what you did, I could never, ever care more about some collectible than my kids." Eddie says as he frustratingly sweeps over the same spot he's swept over 3 times.

"I think it's clean" Josie mumbles making her father look up to her in confusion.

"What?"

She chuckles and drops her head in her hand that is resting on her inner knee. "The floors are clean. You've swept over them a million times."

Eddie looks down at the floor which is almost squeaking. His lips fold into his mouth as he lets the broom fall between the corner wall. "Thanks"

Josie unfolds her legs moves to the edge of the counter and slides off while laughing.

Eddie's face pulls back in perplexion. "What? I'm just frustrated at this case."

Jo throws her head back laughing as she walks out of the kitchen and into her room. "I don't think that's the only emotion you're feeling."

Her father scoffs loudly but can't help but follow her into her room. "What do you mean by that?"

Jo pops down on her bed with her book on her side and her pillows propped up to support her back. "Nothing."

"Josephine!"

"Dad-" she chuckles out while sitting up to face her dad. "You're worried about Buck. He's taking his test and you... are...worried"

Eddie laughs out. "I'm not worried, why would I be worried? Buck is a grown man, I do not need to be worried about him."

"Okay, Dad, whatever you say." Josie sings and leans back against her pillows.

Eddie watches his daughter as she grabs her book and opens it to her page that is being held by a bookmark.

He hates it when she's right.

"It's just- what if he fails"

Jo looks over to her father with wide eyes that scream 'I knew it'

He hates it.

"You know what? No, I'm not worried, he's not gonna fail, he's gonna do great." Eddie spits out with his head held high.

Josie nods her head slowly.

"I'm gonna go call Bobby." Her father points behind him as he pivots to walk out of the room. "To talk to him. Just have a conversation. And if I get a chance, I'll ask him if he's heard anything about whether Buck passed. But only if I remember to ask."
