Buck had lost not only Josephine but now Chris was missing. Buck went to help some people who were stuck in the water and Chris tipped over the edge the firetruck shook.
Panic overtook his body as he turned his head back and saw that the young boy wasn't there.
Now as he treads through the thick water calling not only Josephine's name but Christopers as well.
He just needed an ounce of hope. He needed to know that Eddie would wake up to his two children in their beds. Not wake up to a death notice call.
"Josie!" Buck called out as a large piece of wood passed him in the water. A group of people drag past him with tears in their eyes and their bodies soaking wet.
"Has anyone seen a boy in the water? He's got brown hair, glasses, and uh- a yellow T-shirt" Buck desperately asks the people who just shake their heads. Buck swallows back his tears and looks around again. "What about a girl? A teenager? She had a pink shirt on and she had dark brown hair. She was over by the bathrooms. Please?"
All he sees are multiple headshakes and sympathetic eyes.
He doesn't want sympathetic eyes.
He wants Josie's calm eyes.
The people move on from Buck and Buck keeps pushing through the water.
"Christopher! Chris!"
Buck stumbles around for a few minutes desperately trying to find anything that will slow his heart rate and stop the pain in his chest and leg. He needs to find Chris.
"He's eight," he tells a group of people who walk past him with blood dripping down their faces.
The people give the same sympathetic face as the other ones and shake their heads, with a few murmurs of sorry.
He stumbles forward through the water until his eye lands on a man dead against a post in the water. His hope, which he's been trying to find, sinks deeper into his body.
He takes it in for a few seconds before looking away and continuing his search. "Josephine!"
"Chris!"
His face scrunches up in agony as he pushes through the deep water, his eyes searching everywhere.
That is until they come across a pair of glasses stuck in some Moss. He leaps forward quickly and grabs them, untangling them in the process.
'No, no, no, no, no Chris'
He holds the glasses tight in his hands as he looks around, his heart breaking in the process.
"Please no"
He stands there for a second more before throwing the glasses over his head and resting them on his neck.
Oh God.

Bobby and Eddie were both on rescue boats as they sped closer to the Ferris wheel that was tilted back, with people handing off and in the little baskets.
The water was filled with debris and dirt but even worse, bodies floated around in it.
Dead
Eddie thought back to a conversation he had a few months ago with Jo.
