It's a little strange
Paying just to be your friend
It's not what you asked for, but I'd give it to you
Over and over again
Because if I don't, you'll never know me
But instead we could be closer
Closer than anyone else like us
In another reality
Like the ones I used to know
I forgot to tell you who I am, to even say hello
But you don't mind, because I've always been around
Questions feel like habits, right?
It's like you knew me all along
But then I had to go
Couldn't say goodbye because you looked at someone else
But that's okay, they're just like me
They're just like me, I bet you agree
For now I'm just a repeat
Of everyone you ever met
But someday I'll be someone
You'll probably know by heart
You'll look me in the eye and think "it's you!"
But first I have to make some money
And spend a lot of time
It might be years before we speak again
But know that we will meet again
Because I won't stop until I'm your friend
I won't stop until I'm your friend
