Chapter 18

Visit

I stared darkly at Gabriel who's now talking to Chesca. The girl is wiping his sweat in his arms like a damn nanny. I blinked when Chloe pulled some strands of my hair. I mouth 'what?' at her. She only gave me wide eyes and a firm shake on her head. I sighed and forcefully took my stare at the two lovey-dovey not so far from where I sat. We're in a gym watching a practice game for the last time. Mabilis na kumalat sa buong campus na break kami ni Lucas for unknown reason. We're not even in a relationship yet but everyone assumes that we already broke up since we're not always together these past few days.

I missed being with him, you know. And I can't believe that he already jumped to the other girl right after I rejected him! Well, I didn't have the right to get mad at him but what the heck? Can't he even let a month pass or even just a few weeks? Nakakagigil.

"I think he did it on purpose." Annie commented.

"I don't think so, ikaw na rin ang nagsabi na nakita mo sila last Saturday kahit wala naman si Entice that time." Chloe countered.

I decided to take my leave after seeing Lucas and that girl almost touched their lips sa sobrang lapit. Fine! I am aware that it's my fault that we ended up like this but I can't control myself not to be affected. 

"Wait, Entice." kontrol ang boses na tawag ng dalawa. I didn't listen and continued padding outside.

I gasped for air. 

Inhale. 

Exhale. 

I tried to calm my fast beating heart. Shit. My heart literally broke after seeing that scene and it's not an exaggeration.

"Hey, Euren! Are you okay?" nakakunot-noong tanong ni Alexander na ngayon ay malalaking hakbang ang ginawa upang makalapit sa akin ng tuluyan. I remained quiet while looking at him.

"Shit! What did I do?" natataranta niyang tanong ng makita ang pagluha ng aking mata.  I instantly wipe it using my right hand. "I'll bring you to the clinic!" sabi niya sabay karga sa akin in bridal way. I didn't even protest. I just let him carry me away from Luke who stared at me in an unreadable expression. I closed my eyes to avoid eye-contact with him. 

"Anong nangyari?" tanong ng school nurse pagdating namin. Wala pa ngang sinasabi ang nurse ay pinahiga na ako ni Alex sa isang bed.

"I saw her catching her breath. At bigla na lang umiyak. I swear, I didn't do anything to upset her."

"I'm fine. I just need to rest." sabi ko ng mahanap ang aking boses.

The nurse performed a series of tests and concluded that it might because of stress because I am perfectly fine. I don't have any heart complications or anything.

"Hey, you can go. I'm fine here. Thank you, Alexander." sabi ko kay Alex na ngayon ay prenteng nakaupo sa isang stool.

"What? Dito na muna ako. Miss nurse, medyo masakit ang ulo ko. Matutulog na muna ako." nakangisi niyang sabi sabay higa sa kabilang bed na katabi ng inuukopa ko. Napailing nalang ang school  nurse namin at hinayaan siya.

"Alright."

In a few minutes, I heard Alex's snore. Nagkatinginan kami ng nurse at parehong natawa ng mahina. Gosh. This guy!

"I'm going to close your curtain so that you can rest well."

"Okay po, Miss. Thank you." 

She smiled as she responded to me.

I texted Chloe and Annie that I'm fine and I'm just going to take a nap before closing my eyes.

Nagising ako ng makarinig ng mga taong nag-uusap.
