The sun streamed through my window warming my face as I opened my eyes. My body still drained from the horrid nights sleep filled with past memories and nightmares.
I swung my legs over my bed as I stretched cracking my fingers and back. My leg still aching from the wolf attack in the woods with Randy.
I quickly wrapped up my nasty looking leg in bandages and changed. I threw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt along with Randy's sweater. About to head downstairs I took one last look at my bottom desk drawer knowing what laid inside, my expression shifting to grief.
After getting ready I staggered downstairs and outside.
"What shall I do today?" I thought to myself "I can do anything I want!"
As I walked down the road towards town my thoughts continued to wander about the various activities I could do.
A loud growl interrupted my thoughts as I thought about food.
"I guess I better find somewhere to get food first" I thought laughing to myself.
I continued to walk down the winding roads in the direction of town thinking of where to go for food.
As the sight of town came closer I decided to go to Giulio's Bakery to get some pastries. Once inside I grabbed a bag and began filling it with bow tie cookies and cherry turnovers my mouth watering at the delicious sight.
There were all sorts of appetizing desserts in the display cases I had trouble picking which ones to take back. From apricot danishes to rhubarb tartlets, I stuffed my face with everything that looked good.
I decided that was enough as I felt like I was about to puke. I was about to turn and leave when I felt the ghost of a hand on my shoulder sending a tingling sensation down my spine. All of a sudden the room got colder and I could feel the warm air of the persons breath standing behind me on the side of my neck. The person did not feel human as their hand felt ghostlike. I quickly spun around but, no one was there.
"I guess my minds playing tricks on me again..." I thought weirded out.
I left the bakery with a weird feeling but that quickly shifted as I saw 7-11 lit up across the way. There I got chips and sodas of all sorts filling the rest of my bag to the brim with junk food. I was about to leave when my eyes caught sight of the most glorious thing ever.
The slurpee machine.
I limped quickly over to the machine and tried every flavor. Not bothering to use a cup I stuck my mouth under all the dispensers.
"Ahh brain freeze" I laughed as I looked in the mirror to see my mouth a vary of colors from the slurpees.
I smiled and thought of one more thing to get before leaving.
Eggs and toilet paper.
"Hehe watch out Connor, cause here I come" I grinned mischievously at my idea.
Now leaving the store on the way to a bully's house I still didn't notice the boy in white following me...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eggs soaring through the air. Yolk splattering over the window panes of Connors house.
"YES!" I cheered as another egg coated his house in a gooey yellow mess. It was hard to miss as I was standing about 4 feet away from his house knowing my horrible baseball throwing skills. As I reached for another egg I caught sight of Connor's ruby red convertible Cadillac.
I walked over to his car throwing in my stuff, Connor's house now fully decorated in eggs and toilet paper. My eyes marveled over his magnificent car.
"JOYRIDE!" I thought in excitement and to my luck his keys were still in the keyhole of the car!
I jumped in and swiftly buckled my seat belt in place. When I heard the belt click, I started up the engine and it roared to life.
"Time for my first driving lesson!" I yelled excited "This can't be too hard."
I yanked the stick and rammed on the gas pedal and the car hummed to life crashing into Connors garage in front of me.
"Oops, forgot you have to reverse" I scoffed to myself and my foolish mistake.
I yanked the stick the other way and the car raced backwards and onto the road.
"WOHOO!" I yelled switching on the radio for some tunes to go along with.
The wind running through my hair as the car raced on down the streets of the town. I swerved left and right eventually getting the hang of it. With "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears blasting out of the radio speakers nothing could go wrong.
This was one of the best moments of my life, so why did I feel so empty? Could it be I have no one to share it with?
"Nahhh" I thought to myself, flipping a random switch that put the convertibles hood back on.
As I snapped back to reality I adjusted the mirror but to my mistake the boy in white appeared in the mirrors reflection sitting in the back seat.
Startled I screamed and swerved the car left and right. I slammed on the breaks and looked in the back seat but once again the boy in white was nowhere to be found.
Confused and startled I decided I wouldn't let the boy in white ruin my fun as I slammed on the gas pedal again racing forward, back towards my house with the sunset setting behind me.
