TW: FINAL CHAPTER! :,(

The next day the smell of warm cookies engulfed my nose as Randy helped me get into my house. He held my hand the entire way of walking me up the steps and I was so grateful to have him near me.

"Hey boys!" My mother called from the kitchen. "I just finished icing a fresh batch of cookies right here that you can try!"

Randy helped me over to the couch and gently sat me down as he went to grab 3 cookies. Two for him and one for me.

He handed me my cookie and slung an arm around me on the couch. Nothing could be better than this.

Suddenly, Danny rushed into the room wearing a pirate costume attacking me and Randy.

"Arghhhhh" Danny yelled as he hit me with his plastic sword in an attempt to steal my cookie.

"HEY get your own cookie Danny Didums" I laughed back spitting my tongue out at him.

He ran off into the kitchen on the hunt for more cookies to steal after he stole mine. Laughing, Randy handed me the extra cookie he had stolen for himself.

"I still can't believe tonight is Halloween!" I exclaimed. "It still feels like I'm stuck in last week and I haven't planned anything! I have no costume." I pouted out the last part bummed that I didn't have anything to wear for my favorite holiday.

Randy just smiled at me and said, "I actually have something for you Lukie Pookie. Let me go get it real quick."

Randy quickly sprang up and ran out the door to get something from his car leaving me confused and alone on the couch.

I breathed in the autumn air. The smell of pumpkin spice and candy apple candles wafted through the air. I sighed contently with where I was, happy to be surrounded by the people I love in a warm cozy home that I'm no longer scared to go back too.

I got up from the couch and surveyed the living room.

It felt like home again.

When my dad died the lightness in my mom faded away and the house turned grim with her sadness, but now looking around it was bright again like someone had just switched a light switch and activated the homey vibe to it again.

I walked over to the mantel and picked up a picture frame.

It was always one of my favorite pictures of all of us...

My dad smiled happily, one arm around my mothers waist, while the other carefully balanced me on his shoulders, as my mother held baby Danny in her arms.

I gently set the picture back and walked over to the couch to wait for Randy.

Thoughts tangled in my mind as I was still confused as to what exactly happened.

Is this heaven?

Am I dead?

Did that mean that none of that ever really happened? No...it must have happened...I still had the scar on my leg from the wolf bite... I pondered over my fathers words again as it all seemed to finally fit together.

Through the woods and over the land...back to the place where it all began.

The Boy in White and I did go back through the woods...and the place where it all began was the well.

Realization dawned on me like the first rays of sunlight breaking through a stormy sky. Everything made sense now.

There you will be betrayed and in the end be saved...
