"Only you can go back" and then he disappeared from sight.

...

..

.

Darkness surrounded me.

I tried to open my eyes yet I couldn't seem to be able to.

The constant beeping of something nearby was the only reminder that I was still alive.

At least I think I'm still alive. Something was snaking in my arm making me feel a tinge of pain. My head felt heavy and my brain clouded. I tried to open my eyes once again but the heavy weight on them made me unable to. Inside every movement felt slow like swimming through thick syrup. My fingers twitched slightly at the feel of someone's hand in mine.

Many hushed voices filled my ears that seemingly grew louder at each dying second. My eyelids began to flutter trying to lift the heavy veil of darkness that was upon them. The continued beeping in the background quickened as my breath grew heavier and more labored.

I struggled to fight against the invisible weight that seemed to pull me down. Until finally my eyes flickered open.

Bright white light blinded me as I attempted to look around the room.

Muffled voices grew sharper yet my brain was still unable to comprehend what any of them were saying.

Familiar and unfamiliar faces surrounded me as questions were being thrown left and right.

How are you feeling?

Can you hear me?

Luke Gabriels do you understand what I am saying?

The outbreak of questions confused me even more. The multiple voices seemingly binding together into a jumbled mess of random words spewed out.

I tried to get my eyes to focus on the faces in front of me but they kept getting blurred by the bright lights all around me.

I looked around at my surroundings and noticed a very white room.

I was in a plain room with white walls and sheets with a machine that was constantly beeping annoyingly in my ear.

Then it hit me.

I was in the hospital.

But why?

Why was I in the hospital?

My eyebrows furrowed as I tried to remember what happened and why I was here.

My brain hurt like hell and everything came rushing back to me in a second knocking me over like a tidal wave.

"Rand-y-y" I croaked out my voice hoarse and tired.

"OH LUKE! I'm right here" A voice came from my right where the hand was grasped around mine.

"I'll give you guys some time to talk things out. Randy be sure to talk slowly to Luke as his brain could be a little disoriented from just waking up. I am going to go contact his mother." A voice I did not recognize said as they walked out.

I breathed heavily in through a tube under my nose providing fresh oxygen for me.

"Oh Luke I'm so glad your'e okay" Randy practically jumped on me giving me a hug as the words left his mouth.

"Wher-e am I?" I asked confused but nonetheless hugging him back.

"You don't remember?" Randy stated, pulling back from the hug but keeping his gaze on me.
