"Luke Gabriels" the name kept repeating in my head over and over again like a broken record.
I stared at the boy in white as these words left his mouth my expression shifting to shock and fear.
"Luke?"
"Is the boy in white me?" I thought to myself.
"Lukeeeee"
"If he is me then why am I here? Is he a different version or something? I guess that explains as to why he looks so similar to me." The thoughts flowing through my brain like a river as the questions seemed to pile up even further.
"LUKE!"
Suddenly I was pulled out of my trace to the boy in white (or I guess me) shaking me.
"Sooooooo" I started. "If you're me then why are you here?...OOh! Do you know what happened to Danny and Randy?"
The boy in white sighed and nodded his head slowly.
"Here I'll show you" And with that he grabbed my hand and pulled me off to Danny's room.
"What are we doing in here?" I asked confused.
"Well, time moves a bit differently here" He explained. "You could have felt like you have been here for weeks like you have...but in the real world for every week here its about a month there"
Bewildered I asked, "What do you mean by that?"
Instead of answering my question the boy in white picked up a seemingly newer drawing done by Danny. His eyes filled with tears as he quickly wiped them away.
The boy in white gently gave me the drawing as my heart grew heavy.
It was a picture of just Danny filled with sorrow. No one else stood in the picture beside him. He was all alone putting up some sort of flyer.
Inscribed on the picture it read "Will Luke ever return home?"
Light streaks of tears came streaming down my face as I set the picture down and took a look at the stack of papers on Dannys desk.
I picked one of the flyers up and it read:
MISSING
HAVE YOU SEEN THIS BOY?
LUKE GABRIELS
16 Years Old
Light skin, Dirty Blonde Hair, Blue Eyes
LAST SEEN: At 24 Chestnut Street On the Night of October 20th; Around 10:40pm
"How long have I been gone?" I breathed out.
"A couple months" The boy in white responded.
"What-t-t? How-w? When-n?" I gasped out a breath. "What-t happened-d to Randy then? Where is he? How did all of this affect him?"
The boy in whites eyes grew dark as he shifted uncomfortably.
"I can take you to see him actually" He replied.
"REALLY?!" I was about to jump for joy at the thought that Randy was here with me all along but I held my tongue as the boy in whites expression was filled with torment and suffering.
"Come on" He said grabbing my arm and pulling me along.
The boy in white and I left my or our house and continued down the main road.
"Where are we going?" I asked. "Randy's house is the other way?"
The boy in white suddenly stopped and turned around to face me. His blue lips trembled as he kept opening and closing his mouth seemingly searching for the right way to respond.
"It was our fault" He finally settled on saying. "We did this to him."
"We did what to him?" Uncertainty filling my thoughts.
"Come on, you'll see"
The boy in whites raven ostensibly following from up above. The raven stared at me with cold eyes as it flew and perched itself on the boys shoulder.
"If you wished to be alone like me then, why do you have a raven?" I asked breaking the tension filled silence.
"I'm actually not sure" He responded. "The raven just appeared here after I died...it's quite peculiar really"
"Interesting" I whispered unsure of what to think of it.
"Why is the bird so creepy?" I thought. "Then again the boy in white is a little strange too...but why does the bird keep staring at me?
I glanced over at the bird to see it staring right back at me. It's eyes burning through me as it felt like he was judging my soul.
We continued to walk down the main roads towards town until a familiar place came into view.
An eerie sensation crept up my spine and sent shivers down my body. I haven't been back to this place since my father...
We arrived at the Wakefield Cemetery.
