I wake up to my phone buzzing. My eyes open slightly, but my hand reaches for my phone. It almost falls out of my hand, but I grab it just in time to swipe up.
"Dear y/n,
I hope this email finds you well. I am pleased to inform you that you have been selected for the position we observed. Congratulations!
Now that you have been offered the job, I kindly request your availability for an upcoming interview, we can have you either Saturday or Monday, whatever suits best for you.
Best regards, Wally."
WOO! My first job! Well, not exactly my first job since I haven't got it yet, but I'm going to be working big. Big like huge.
I drop my phone and dash to my room, boxes everywhere just like yesterday. I grabbed a pair of scissors from next to the box where it had my clothes, and rip it open. I grab out pajamas and suitable clothes I prefer for the interview.
I grab out an skirt suit followed with black heels. I slowly grab it as it becomes undone. I fold it back next to me, putting the heels on top before going through my other clothing for future events.
This, lady and gentlemen, is going to be my awaken.

I stand outside of the factory. It looks dirty, like ghetto style. I sigh, making my way inside through the doors, which I was thinking was going to open on their own.
Instead, I was welcomed to a better clean factory, but I can definitely see why they needed janitors for the outside of the factory. But what do they say? Never judge a book by its cover? I won't judge.
The factory has an opening to the front desk, and multiple rooms where most of the scientists worked. I went up to the front desk lady, she was wearing glasses and wearing a skirt suit just like me but in black, she had her hair up that was black and brown eyes that focused on a computer while she typed wildly.
"Um can I-"
"What do you want." she said, angrily, not even looking at me. She was so focused on her computer. She probably just heard my voice and immediately went to question.
"Uhm," I cleared my throat. "My name is Y/n, I'm here to meet someone?" I said, tilting my head, but the woman only looks slightly at me before looking up and down, then she went back to her computer typing.
She sighs, bringing her fingers off of the keys before going over to the phone and putting it to her ear. "Mr darling, there's somebody here that needs to talk to you." she said sweetly on the phone. I tried to listen, but I couldn't hear anybody's voice on the other line.
She put the phone down softly, then looked at me. "He's going to be down here in less than five minutes, you can go sit down in the waiting room or you can stand here, whatever makes you get away from me." she sighs once more before bringing her fingers back to the keys on her computer, typing away. I nodded before going to the waiting room. I sat down in a chair, plenty of people were here, but I didn't know why. Probably for the same reason I was, but I didn't think too much about it when I sat in the last chair in the last row, the corner.
Five minutes later an man with blue hair and yellow fur walked in. Dang, I've never seen a man more sexier. I shook my head out of thought as he looked around in the waiting room. I stood up.
"Uhm, Wally— or, Mr. Darling? Uh— I'm the person from the email." I explained, walking over towards him. I stopped in front of him.
"Really? You're Y/n? Damn, you're short." he laughs. His voice was deep, like, REALLY deep and raspy. "And you're really tall." I chuckled nervously. I'm so embarrassing.
"Come on, follow me." he turned around, moving his hand in an waving direction towards the exit of the waiting room. I gulped, following behind him. "So, you applied for what again?" he asked as we walked down the hall. "Oh! Uh— scientist? I have all my information in my file, I-if you were wondering." I told him before looking away. "Oh, yeah, okay. I thought you were here for— nevermind." he said. I raised my eyebrow at his vague answer, but didn't question it.
We reached his office. He pointed an finger at the chair as he went over to his, I nodded before sitting down before him. "So, Y/n did you just get out of college?" he asked before going on his computer. "Yes. I graduated two months ago, just moved yesterday." I told him.
"Okay— so, yeah. Congratulations on that, not like I care but whatever." he clasped his hands together before looking at me. "Oh, thanks, sir. So, does that mean I got the job?" I asked with a smile on my face. I was finally going to get my dream job!
"No, you didn't." my smile faded from my face. "Oh, but in the email you said—"
"Blah, blah, blah, whatever I said in the email was wrong, look, the whole point is, I don't want you to become a scientist, I don't care that you— what? Graduated two months ago in honors class all year?" he said before looking back at his computer. "You didn't get the job, there's something actually I need you to do, for me." he told me. "W-what is it?" I asked.
"My assistant. I fired all my old ones— well, disposed, of them," he said, drumming his fingers on his desk as he momentarily looked away and widen his eyes before bringing his attention back to me. "but I really need a new one. You get better paid than the scientists, but don't tell them that." he sighed. "But, I'm not here for that." I said, a bit of disappointment in my tone. "Take it or leave it." I wasn't here for that. I thought I was going to get my dream job, but better pay? Bills paid? I mean, I could deal with that. I sigh.
"What's the pay?" I asked suspiciously, squinting my eyes at the yellow puppet. He smirked, inclining slightly. "As much as you want it to be." he answered quietly. That doesn't really tell me much. How come he wasn't taking this seriously? More than the scientists are paid. Scientists are paid $107,698 per year.
"$150,000. Per year." I answered back competitively. That's how much NASA pays their scientist. He's the owner of a rainbow factory, I don't expect him not to have that much. Hell, he probably has triple that amount, quadruple even. His smirk left his face, not in an instant, but in a noticeable moment. He drew away, leaning back in his chair as he thought. "Fine. $150,000."
"Yeah, I'll take the job." I smiled. He was not happy. I don't blame him. I wouldn't wanna pay my worker $150,000. "Get out." he said impatiently as his smile completely faded from his face. "I-"
"Out." he pointed towards the door. I left, closing the door on my way out. I sigh and look down at my feet. I didn't even get what I came here for, I was scammed, so scammed from what I planned to be. I should've said no, if I said no, I wouldn't have to be his stupid personal assistant. But I mean.. who cares about passions when you can make more than what you were supposed to? Maybe I'm just a little greedy.
Tomorrow is another day.
