My alarm clock buzzes. I groan trying to reach the button to turn it off, but my hand isn't that long enough. I sit up on my bed and slowly look over to my alarm clock before turning it off.

Today is another day.

I open my closet and pick out a vest with a white undershirt underneath it, with brown boots. Then grab just a piece of toast to eat on the way, grabbing my keys from my coffee table in the living room.

I swallow the toast before I get out of my car. I grab my phone looking through my emails and the time. I close my car door making sure it's locked with my keys, glued to my phone. I don't even look up until I bumped into somebody and look up from my phone, I felt embarrassed.

A blue dog with dark glasses and an suit turned around from the front of the factory. I looked up at him and gulped. "U-uh, sorry for bumping into you, sir. I'm in a hurry." I told the dog, his ears perked up once he noticed my face. He took off his glasses and smiled. "Well, if it isn't Walden's assistant." he chuckled. I tilt my head raising an eyebrow at the dog. "Uhm, yeah, actually, I am. How do you know?" I asked, putting my phone in my pocket.

"He told me himself, we're best buds." he chuckled slightly, rolling his eyes. "Oh, I never see you in the factory?" I say, bringing my head back into normal position waiting for his response. "Yeah, sometimes. I'm from the lower parts of the factory, usually the basement level because of Walden's command." he explained looking down at me. "You— work for him?" I asked.

"Yeah, I was one of the first to help him, until he got his 'other' friends to also help him. It wasn't too long after the factory got popular, and he totally forgot about me." he scoffed, the jealousy popping in. "I'm sorry to hear that, sir." I say quietly. "No need to call me that, you can call me by my first name, Barnaby." he smiled putting his glasses back on. "Oh, thanks, I'm Y/n." I smiled back.

"Y/n.. I feel like I heard that name before, ah, it doesn't matter. It's nice to have you working here, Y/n." he said. "Thanks, Barnaby." I thanked him. He went to the entrance of the doors and I followed behind him. He opened the door for me, I nodded my head at him before going inside.

I went to my bosses office. In a hurry because I was super late, I got distracted by Barnaby talking to him. Which wasted a bunch of time. Whatever, at least I learned something from my boss. I opened the doors, seeing a man with black hair angrily slamming open the door, even though I was already opening it, so I stepped aside so the man could get through. I tilt my head and went inside of his office.

"Uhm, Wally?" I asked. He looked up at me from his computer. "You're late." he said, leaning on his chair, fidgeting with a black pen. I gulped, nodding my head in agreement. "I know, I tried getting here on time." I admit. "But.. that doesn't explain why you are late." he said. He wasn't as kind as he was in the interview, then again, he was still grumpy and had that scary deep voice.

"I-I.. I'm sorry, I don't have any excuse." I admit once again. He sighed, and it was silent for some time. "Just— clock in and make coffee for me," he said before going back on his computer. I left without saying anything, if he accepted that, I wasn't complaining.

I went to the clock in station and clocked in before 9:00. I'm somewhat proud, but that doesn't mean I wasn't late. This is only my first day, that's probably the only reason he let me go. I sigh, trying to take a moment to breathe before I make coffee for my own boss, I don't even know how he likes his coffee, I wish I asked, but I'm just going to have to guess for my living. A woman with blonde hair also clocks in next to me. I look up at her as she also looks as frustrated as me, she sighs, and turns her head towards me.

My eyes widen. "O-oh, I'm sorry. I'm Y/n, you must work here as well." I extend my hand with a kind smile to the woman. The woman doesn't say anything as she looks at my hand and back at my face, studying it carefully. "Or, maybe you don't— I'm sorry— or, just forget it." I say looking down at the floor just trying to forget this moment. It was so embarrassing but the woman said something before I left. "Hey," she says softly. I stopped walking and turned to the woman.

"Are you new? I can't remember if I've seen you here before." she asked. "Uh— yeah, today's my first day working here." I admit. She chuckles walking over towards me. "I'm Julianne, but everybody calls me Julie." she explained extending her hand this time. Okay, maybe she didn't like when other people went first with introductions.

I shook her hand thoughtfully, and carefully. "I'm Y/n." I smiled at Julie, she was as nice as Barnaby. "Nice to meet ya, Y/n. I can tell we're going to be great friends." she chuckled softly. "Oh, I should get going now. The lab needs me at the moment. Let's meet up at lunch?" she asked tilting her head, making a confused face at me. I widen my eyes when I realize she was asking me a question after I zoned out. "O-oh! Yeah, let's do that." I smiled. She nodded and left, I watched her leave before realizing I had to go make coffee.

I groan, heading for the cafeteria. I went to the coffee station, realizing there was no mugs. What. The. He— Wally cleared his throat as I could hear him stomping into the cafeteria. I turned around. I was just being harassed today.

"Oh, hey sir." I say innocently, finally turning my entire body towards him. "Oh hello." he said deeply crossing his arms above his chest. "So um, where is that coffee?" he asked looking around the cafeteria. I turned back to the coffee station, then back at my boss. I was wasting too much time. "Uhm— there's no mugs." I say. He shrugged his arms. "So.. just get an cup.." he said, walking towards me. "But we have no cups." I say as he pushes me aside. "Why didn't you ask for one when you were chatting." He asked me. I looked confused. How did he know I was chatting with Julie?

"Uhm, may I ask how you knew I was chatting?" I asked as he turned around fastly. "I have cameras everywhere, assistant." he said. I mean it could've been my name but that's always good too. He left the cafeteria without telling me anything. I stood there, then sighed before also leaving if I had no purpose here.
