Seriously, I feel like Walden should have some more respect for his employees. Maybe he is a nice guy. Maybe he can't show his emotions so well. But whatever it is, he's still cold hearted, that's for sure.
There's not much to be explained. Walden had authorities called on the factory. Probably Julie that called in the first place, I'm starting to think she's a fake friend every second now.
But now who's going to work in the infirmary without Poppy? Poppy was my mother, and honestly that's what she felt like. Nobody could comfort any puppet without her kindness. Everybody's still in denial that the mother bird had passed away. Nobody knows who did it, apparently, a coincidence with the cameras, they were off because they needed fixing, but I think it wasn't just a coincidence.

I took a walk around the factory. I had to clear my mind quite a bit. After such a horrific accident an week ago— won't be explaining why— I just didn't know what to feel. The factory had fully open after everything was cleared up, including the rats. But Sally had gotten bit by one of the bigger rats while trying to escort them to their cages, she got an infection. But without Poppy's assistance, I was assigned to watch over the infirmary until somebody applied.
I was still an assistant, I was just taking a quick break, and every few minutes I would have to go check, including my lunch break. Today, I had gotten the hang of checking in.
I peeped in Sally's spot. I slowly opened the sheet that keeps privacy in the spot. She was laying down on her phone, but not in the covers. I walked in with a smile. "Hey, Sal. Feeling any better?" I ask. She smiles and sits up, putting her phone to the side. "Kinda. The wound isn't getting any better." she replies. She shows her hand, peeling away the bandages. I sigh, looking up at her from her wounded hand. "Just leave the bandages on. We'll know once it's fine to take it off." I tell her.
"Yeah, I know." she sighs, crisscrossing on her bed. "Well.. we can check on it next week. It should heal by then." I smile, nodding my head at her. "Why do I have to stay in the infirmary, anyway? Couldn't I just keep bandage on?" Sally tilts her head. "It could spread. Even from a far distance, I can't have that risk." I answer. "Close enough." she replies with a sigh. The attitude.
"Look, it's only me here. I don't know how this whole thing works yet. Without Poppy—" I don't go too far. "I just can't handle stuff like this, not without any help." I look down. "Can't you ask Wally?" she looks over at me. "Nah, he'll make up an excuse, like saying he has too much paperwork on his hands." I chuckle. She chuckles after me. "You shouldn't continue working with him." Sally whispers. I look up at her and raise an eyebrow. Why wouldn't I want to work here? "Why's that?" I ask. "You seriously didn't apply to be an assistant, surely you've heard of the others." she chuckles.
And the 'others,' most likely being the past assistants, I still couldn't wrap my head around the whole story yet. "No? Not really." I reply. "Walden had other assistants from most likely weeks ago, who he couldn't bear with anymore. So every time they got on his nerves, he would.. not just kill the poor people, but turn them into test subjects for further tests."
My heart dropped at what Sally just told me. Further tests? Why would he want to turn innocent people into things that shouldn't exist? My eyes twitched, and I felt an cold breeze coming near me every minute. "Y/n?" Sally said quietly, her smile fading away like my life. "I-I— Sally, I'll see you later. I just remembered that I needed to get Walden's daily coffee." I stood up from the bed and she watched me. "W-what? I thought you were going to stay?" she asks, but really, I needed to get out of here.
"I'll be back later. I promise." I say with unsteadiness in my voice. I tried to pretend I wasn't as scared as I looked. "You're not leaving, right? What am I supposed to do when the infection gets worse?" she stands up from her bed. She was right. If the infection spreads, or even gets worse over time when I won't be here, who knows what will happen. I sigh. "I'll take care of that." I nod my head turning it away from her gaze. "I'm sorry I told you that." she whispers.
"He didn't want me to tell you." she said quietly. "Who?" I ask raising an eyebrow. "Walden and Home." she says. I'm leaving.
"O-okay, that's nice that they both thought of me." I smile. I leave as fast as I can after talking to Sally, but I slow down after I start to think.
What could happen if I don't obey Walden? I can't leave Sally, there's nobody to help her.
Thoughts rush through my mind and scenarios with it.
Stick with it.
