I finished at the bar, insisting that I drove Sally back home from the bar since I think she was a little too tipsy to ride on her own. She tried telling me that she wasn't, I wasn't buying it. But just for a split second, I look away to the waiter, then she's gone. I put the check in and leave the bar to go look for her.
"Damn it Sally! Why do you have to be like this?" I whisper under my breath. My eyes wander around the parking lot. Unfortunately, due to the side effects of alcohol, everything was blurry, and my mind was offtrack from the real deal. I was frustrated. I started kicking empty cans that were left in the parking lot by unknown people.
I was drunk.
I calm myself down. "She's fine— I know she is." I breathe in once before I close my eyes and open them. Now I don't know if I'm seeing things correctly orders the side effects of alcohol, but I could see the man I did not need to see. Wally.
My eyes widen. How did he know I was here? I tried to turn myself around but the slam of his car door, he could definitely see me. I turn myself back around to make eye contact with him as he makes his way over. He lights an cigarette as he begins talking.
"What you doing here, girl?" he asked. I was now fully embarrassed. My mouth opened slightly. "U-uh.. nothin'." I lie. "You looking for someone?"
He was on to me. Surely he wouldn't care if I said I was here for a reason, but not the whole idea, especially leaving out the kiss part. "Yeah, I am actually." I say. "Really?" he shoots his eyes up from the cigar. He puts his lighter back into his pocket. "Uhm— I'm here with a girl. But I lost her." I reply. "Oh, so you are here with somebody." he spoke. "Yeah, I kind of just said that. What are you doing here?" I asked in suspicion.
"To get away from the factory. What are you doing here?" he asks. Now this was just getting worse. "Oh— I'm just hanging out. By myself now, apparently." I admit, putting my hands in my pockets looking around my surroundings embarrassingly. "Damn." he says under his breath. Before the conversation goes any further— Sally emerges from the woods.
She's covered in sticks and mud. We both look at her. "Hey, Y/n! I was looking all over for you." she says drunkenly. She wraps her arm over my neck as she turns to Walden. "Oh, actually I thought you left." I say, not wanting to even make eye contact with either of them. "W-what? Why would I leave you? After all, you're basically like my best friend! Best friends go to the bar together because—" she sneezes. On me.
"I-I think I'm just gonna go." Wally takes his cigarette out and begins walking away. "Wait! Is that who you were telling me about?" Sally says, loud enough for him to stop walking and turn around. I turn to her. "Who?" I ask, pretending to be confused of the whole situation, but the blush begins to spread over my cheeks. "Y-yeah! I remember it now! Something about— kisses. Like candy. I like kisses." she zones off into the sky. I try to release from her grip, but she begins falling.
I hold her up so she doesn't fall to the road."Ha.. Sally— she's crazy. She's just talking about something totally different from the topic. Heh." I laugh. He stands there like a statue. "Were you— talking about me?" he asks. My eyes widen. "W-what? No. Believe me. She's talking crazy!" I say, laughing hysterically. "Lies.." Sally mutters. "Shut up before you meet the stars." I whisper to her. "I should get this one home." I say, really wanting to get out of here.
He smirks. "Need a ride?" he holds up his keys. I blush. "N-no! I can do it myself." I chuckle nervously. But I would do anything to take a ride with him. "Come on, it'll be fun!" he chuckles. "Heh, I- don't think it will." I say awkwardly. After all, all I'm doing is holding up Sally. It's obvious that I need some help here.
"Get in the damn car." he demands. "Yes sir." I say quickly. I walk to his car like holding a dead body in my hands.

It's not the first time I've been in Walden's car before. Something tells me this car ride is going to be longer than just dropping off little Miss drunk lady in the back. "So.. has everything been going alright at the factory?" I ask, trying to make this depressing car ride funner than it looks.
"No, it's getting worse every second." he replies. "Oh," I say. "I'm sure you'll fix it up in no time." I smile looking at him. "I don't." He says. My smile fades. "Alright then.." I whisper looking out my window. "How have you been?" he asks. I snap my head towards him. I think he knows I'm looking at him, even if he can't see it. "Uhm, I've been good. You?"
"Suicidal." he answers. My eyes widen. "In better terms?" I ask. "Depressed." this is getting nowhere. "How have the pipes been? I know I kind of already asked that question, but I don't think you told me about the pipes." I say. He sighs deeply. "Well, I found out there's a rat in the pipes and it peed on the guy that was fixing them. I gave him fifteen dollars not to tax us." he replied. "An rat?"
"A fat one too. Don't even know how it fit in there." he says. "You sure you don't need any help?" I ask. "No," he says.
We drop off Sally at her house. I kind of had to tug her out of the backseat because she fell asleep and wouldn't wake up. I also had to go through the backyard because Sally keeps her front door locked, not her back door though.
I closed the car door and sighed. "So uhm, are you good?" he asks thoughtfully. I slowly look at him. "Drive please." I say. As we drive, it's silent for at least a few minutes before he speaks up. "So— is what Sally say was true?"
"True about what?" I ask. "You know, about me." he had the nerve to ask about what Sally said. Sally said an whole bunch of things. But I could tell about how he said it, that he was talking about us talking about him inside at the bar. "Yeah, nothing bad though." I admit. "What was it?" he asked. I don't answer.
Once we reached my house, I didn't really want to say anything to him. After all, I didn't even wanna get his car, but he kind of demanded me to. I close the car door, and he drives away.
