I turn on the water in my bathroom. I take off the cap of the toothpaste, and carefully spread it on top of the toothbrush.

Slowly, I put the toothbrush in my mouth and start with the top of my teeth while looking into the mirror. I spit out the toothpaste that remained in my mouth.

Before I continued brushing, I get a text from Walden. I look at my phone and turn the water off, moving my eyes to my phone that's on top of the sink ledge.

BOSS:
"Meet me in the back of the factory."

—————————————————————

I park my car in the parking lot, in the same spot I was the day before. I grab my keys and my phone while putting it in my pocket. I step out of the vehicle closing the door, hearing it go beeping.

I go to the back of the factory. Nothing really special in the back. Nothing I really expected except darkness. There was a door that was an exit from the laboratory, just in case of an fire or so.

I don't see Wally in sight, at least I can't see his pitch black eyes, or his vibrant fur. I look around one more time before shrugging my shoulders. I feel an tap on my own shoulder, and turn around immediately to see Wally standing behind me with a smirk.

"Hey," he chuckled. I stand in a frighten pose, nervous and embarrassed at the same time. "Hey." I say, fixing my composure. "Did I scare ya?" he asked tilting his head still smirking.

I look around my surroundings. "Nah." I reply. "Come on, let's go inside." he moved his head towards the exit door. Even if that was for exits.

He opens the door for me and I can see a bunch of people already inside. I walk inside, nodding my head at him looking around. I wait for him, he closes the door behind him as he began walking. I followed like a puppy behind him. "Why did you want me to come to the back anyway?" I asked in confusion. "Well— even if those pictures were deleted, people saw it anyway and would go crazy if we met up at the entrance." he explained. Smart move.

"Also, that's not the only reason I wanted you to meet up with me." he slowly looked in my direction still walking. "It isn't?" I said quietly. We entered his office. "No, it wasn't." he answered my question. He sat down in his office chair. I sat down in the chair in front of the desk. "We're closing up the factory for a little while." he explained moving his papers out of the way.

My eyes widen. Why? "Why?" I asked. "There was an leak in the pipes recently. Downstairs." he tilts his head to the right. Downstairs like the basement. I thought this place was safe, at least that's what it said in the description of the title for the job. I'm surprised. "You don't have to come tomorrow. We're expecting for it to be cleaned up by Saturday morning. Julie's so worried about it that I had to call somebody. But they won't be here till the end of the day." he explains. That makes sense now.

"Oh! Is there anything I can do to help?" I asked. I was worried, of course! But that's not the only reason I wanted to help. Wally has been a lot different than I've been usually seeing him. Like something pulling us together. "No, you don't have to. You've done enough these past few days." he said. "Ah, alright. I understand. Thanks for telling me, if you hadn't, I'd probably be wondering why nobody came to work." I chuckle at my joke.

He sat there in silence. I stopped laughing and cleared my throat before getting up from my own chair. I don't even stop to look at him. I turn around and meet with the double doors of his office. Before I can even touch the doors wood, Wally begins to say something. "You know, assistant, you don't have to work here." I turn back to him. "What do you mean?" I ask.

"You don't need to work here." he says again. "Why wouldn't I work here? This is the only job I've ever had that's given me good pay. I wouldn't never leave the factory." I chuckle at his words. "You don't have to say that just because I'll fire you either way if you're lying." he said quietly. "You won't have to fire me." I say quietly with him.

Walden stood up from his chair and walked over to me, stopping in front of me. "Can I ask you something?" he said not in a whisper. "I'll be forced to say yes either way." I admit. "Then I won't ask." I could barely respond to his response before he fastly kissed me.

———————————————————————

"Seriously? I mean, romantic don't get me wrong, but that's— kind of strange for a man like him." Sally chuckles. She drinks her cup of alcohol and slams it on top of the table. I invited her to an bar after work— since we had nothing better to do. We couldn't go to work for the next week and I still couldn't get my mind straight on anything except that kiss, and Sally was the only one I could talk to.

"Yeah, do you think he meant it?" I ask. I barely had drank my drink. I didn't want to, too busy focused on what happened in Walden's office. But Sally was so focused on drinking her drink, it was hard to get her attention from time to time. "Well— it really depends if he was flirting with you, or he was playing with you." she explains. "Yeah, but it felt so natural. I think it was both." I admit, looking down at my legs underneath the table.

"Let's put it in these terms— love is like popcorn, you know when you go to a movie theaters with a friend and they steal most of your popcorn without you noticing because you're so focused on the movie? Think of what that kiss was like that. Did he steal it? Or did he ask for it?" Sally tilts her head before drinking more of the cup of alcohol. I want to say it was neither. He wasn't polite, or maybe he was. In my opinion, I wasn't so positive. But he didn't ask. I said I would be forced to say yes to whatever he was going to say anyway, so that basically means it's my fault that I don't know.

It's stupid. I would've gotten this figured out if I didn't say a word. Maybe I could've just said 'what?' But I hadn't. So now I was lost in question. "Yeah, that sounds simpler." I began drinking the cup of alcohol in front of me. She chuckles. "To us, just a couple of idiots in a bar." she put her cup in the air, waiting for me to do the same. I put my cup in the air and slowly moved mine towards hers. Making a loud click!

We laughed, moving our conversation to a different topic.
