Loid walked around town, checking stores for any possible gifts.
Since the car was going to be late, he decided to go around town and look for items he could give as a gift to his girls.
No one was having a birthday and there really isn't much reason to go gift shopping but he wanted to.
The two have been working so hard and they deserve something that will surely show his respect and appreciation.
He wasn't looking for anything expensive. Just something that they will like.
Eventually, he came across a jewelry store. He would have just walked passed but something stopped him.
He immediately thought of Yor and remembered that she doesn't have any jewelry except for a cheap silver chain with a blank circle pendant that she got from Yuri on her birthday a few years back.
And why was it blank?
Yuri said Yor can put an initial there. He was secretly hoping that she put his initials there but she got Forger written instead.
He then felt bad because they have been married for over a decade and he never once gifted her jewelry.
She was happy with his simple presents and never complained about it but every woman should have fancy things.
Not thinking too much about it, he entered the shop and started to look around for something perfect.
"Hello sir. I noticed you were looking around. Can I help you with what you're looking for?" A woman came up.
"Ah, well I'm buying a gift for my wife." He said.
"I see. Do you have any specifics? Like a type of stone or design?" She asked.
Loid thought about it for a moment. Yor didn't really have a preference so he would have to come up with something based on what he knows about her.
Well as far as he knows, she wasn't too keen on overly designed items. She was more on the simple side. She also loves red since it's what she wears a lot.
"Do you have any rubies?" He asked, deciding the type he would like to give her.
"Yes, we do. It's over here." She gestured for him to follow and led him towards the corner of the shop.
He went through every single one but nothing caught his eye yet.
"Sir do you have a preferred design?" The woman asked him once they were near the end of the section.
"Something simple but elegant is what I'm hoping to find." He says as his eyes scan the jewels on display.
"Ah, I see. We can go over there sir. This side is mostly the big, rich, and old fashioned type of accessories." The girl said, pointing to a corner on the other side of the room.
He nodded and followed.
The items there look much better. It was simpler. More unique looking.
He scans everything one by one and tries to imagine Yor wearing it. There were a few options but he was hoping to find something better.
Eventually, his eyes come across a necklace.
It was a heart shaped ruby with a silver chain. It was cliche and simple but it looked nice.
