The room was dark and quiet. Only the faint sound of a ticking clock could be heard.

Anya slept peacefully under her blanket.

Bond was on his second dog bed that was inside Anya's room.

He had entered sometime after Anya's call with Loud and made himself comfortable.

The ringing sound of the alarm echoed throughout the quiet room, startling the two.

Anya's eyes snapped open and she jolted, shooting up in shock.

Realizing that it was just her alarm, she breathed a sigh of relief and looked over at Bond.

"Good morning Bond. Sorry to wake you up this early." She greets, yawning as she stretched.

She swung her legs off the bed and slipped her feet into her slippers.

She knelt down in front of Bond and cupped his face, softly stroking his fur.

At her touch, his tail wagged rapidly as he panted with his tongue out.

She chuckled.

"Go back to sleep. I'll just get ready."

She stood back up and grabbed her towel hung at the back of her door.

She stepped out of her room and switched on the hallway lights to see better.

She walked to the bathroom, already planning what she will do after school.

______________

Dressed in her uniform, Anya grabbed a gray turtle neck sweater from her closet and slipped it on.

She grabbed her bag from her chair and checked to make sure that Damian's clothes were inside.

"I won't be home for a while. Ha-ha will be here by noon I think so someone will feed you."

She turns to Bond.

"Take care of the house while we're gone."

She knelt down and pulled him into a hug, wanting the touch and warmth Bond provided even if it was only for a moment.

She hasn't hugged anyone in so long.

She honestly needed it.

"I'll see you later." She smiled at him and gave his head soft strokes.

"Borf!"

"Bye Bond!" She stood up and walked out of her room, waving to the dog.

She turned on the lights in the living room, not wanting Bond to spend half the day in the dark.

By the front door, she zipped up her brown boots, deciding that she would wear her school shoes when she arrives at school.

She took her beige coat from the coat rack and slipped it on, sighing at the warmth it provided.

It wasn't as high quality as Damian's but as long as it kept her warm, she was fine with it.

She opened the door and stepped out, shutting it quietly so the neighbors wouldn't be disturbed.

She swears that old people could hear anything even with their bad hearing.

The trees could rustle because of the wind and they would hear it and wake up.

She swiftly locked the door and quickly left before anyone could see her leaving.

It was so early in the morning. It would come across as suspicious if a teenager was out before the sun rose.
