It had been a month since Anya found Kaito. His father was arrested after a week of interrogation and court.

Kaito now stays in the headquarters of WISE. He seemed to be pretty understanding of the situation and accepted it without much question.

He was being taught how to fight and the agency is teaching him to keep secrets and stay quiet about the whole situation.

They also legally changed his name from Kaito to Kai to avoid any trouble.

There have been less meetings about the mission in order to focus on Kai and his adjustment.

Anya sat in a cafe waiting for Becky. They agreed to meet up at wherever restaurant they wanted to try out before she has to go back to being busy.

However her friend has yet to arrive. But knowing her, she probably got stuck in her room trying to find something to wear.

So Anya ordered some food for herself so she won't starve while waiting.

She ordered a grilled cheese. It was nice to the tongue and easy on the stomach so she won't be full when Becky gets here.

She was kinda mad at her for being late but she had no right to complain. After all this is what Becky did when she waited for her to show up.

Most of the time she never did, sadly. Anya would be so busy running around completing important tasks that she would forget the plans she had made with her friend a week before.

She didn't have much time to think about it since she was always so busy but the guilt is now eating at her.

She left Becky sitting around waiting for hours and hoping she would show.

She wasn't the brightest tool in the shed but she knows everything her bestie is feeling.

She is a telepath after all. She just pretends not to know anything because it could be personal and she didn't have the time in her schedule to think too much about it.

"Hey! Sorry I'm late. My closet was empty." Becky said, panting after having sprint to the cafe.

Anya smiled at her.

"It's fine."

"So, where were we on that topic earlier? Ah right. So then after he said that they said..."

Hours had passed. The sun was setting, painting the sky with colors that mix so beautifully.

The soft afternoon breeze hit Anya in the face, making her feel peace and content one could only dream of.

However it was only for a moment as the breeze stopped and she was back in the real world.

She was sitting on a bench by the park.

Becky was beside her eating the gummies she had bought. She was dragged there by Becky who was so insistent in leaving the cafe for some reason.

Anya sat there, watching Becky munch on her gummies. She said nothing as she was still pondering on her situation with the brown headed girl.

She didn't want to bring up the issue right now. Becky was happy. She didn't such a heavy topic to ruin her mood.

"Anya-chan."

Her head shot up, surprised to see her friend looking at her worriedly.

"Are you okay? You seem out of it today. You look deep in thought. You have been since we met up." She frowned.

Anya was never one to think about something so hard. It's something serious if she is.

"Ah, yes. I'm fine. I'm just in the middle of a situation right now."

"Hm? Situation? What situation?" Becky asked, tilting her head to the side in confusion.

"Ah, I'd rather not talk about it..." Anya mumbled. It was a private matter she would deal with when they are both ready.

Which might be never...

"Oh. Okay. Tell me if you do want to talk. I'll be here to listen." She smiled warmly and held out the pack of almost finished gummies.

Chuckling softly, Anya reached into the bag and took all the gummies, taking it in her mouth all at once.

"Hey! I meant take some! Not everything!" Becky whined.

"Eh? But there's barely any left in the bag..."

Pouting, Becky turned away, crossing her arms and huffing, looking like a 5 year old.

Anya burst out laughing and she threw her head back.

Becky tried to resist laughing too but the corners of her mouth quivered and twitched upward.

She gave in and laughed along.

"Thank you so much Becky." Anya said, thanking her for the ride home.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'm just glad you were able to show up today." Becky joked, rolling her eyes.

She knows it wasn't meant to sound the way it did but it did. To her at least.

Hearing that come from her mouth was like a punch to the gut. It made her feel even more guilty than she already is.

Anya swallowed, unable to say anything. So she chuckled.

"Hey are you alright? You're staring off into space again." Becky mumbled, worried when Anya seemed to lose focus again.

It wasn't really obvious but she could tell.

Everytime Anya was daydreaming, she would get that look in her eyes that says her focus was fading.

Basically, she would get that blank look. Her eyes would look as if it's empty and there's not a single hint of happiness.

That's the reason why Becky doesn't like it when Anya goes in deep thought.

She had no problem with Anya focusing but it was unnatural. It would look as if she was never once happy in her life.

"Huh? Oh yes, I'm alright. Sorry. I'm not really well rested today." Anya explained, rubbing the back of her neck with a sheepish smile.

It was true. She didn't get much sleep.

But that's because she spent the few hours she had thinking about the agency, Becky, Kai, her parents, and basically everyone that she knows.

"Really? Well you should go in and rest then."

Anya smiled.

Even after she ignored her for months she still cares.

"I will. Thanks for today Becky. You're a really great friend."

"I sure am!" Becky announced as a matter of fact.

They both shared a small laugh at the confidence before waving a goodbye.

"Arigato, Becky."

Anya said as the black car her friend was in drove away.
