Anya sat in the car with Damian beside her. They didn't really talk. They just looked out the window.

Ever since the day Desmond has helped her, they have grown closer. Not best friends type of close. But close enough that they consider the other as a friend.

He has become nicer to her too. He lessened the name calling and rarely ever teased her.

Now they were going on that lunch she owed him.

She had planned to take him to the restaurant a few minutes away from her building which was her family's favorite but she figured man like him would prefer fancy food instead.

She had let him choose and he decided on some restaurant across town.

She hoped the prices were something she could afford.

"Forger." He called. She turned her head and raised her brows, expecting his next sentence.

"Uhm, nevermind..." He mumbled, turning back to the window with a red hue on his face.

'Dammnit. Why can't you tell her?!'

She heard. She wasn't sure what that meant but it obviously had something to do with what he was about to tell her.

When they got to the restaurant, Anya was thankful that the prices were reasonable.

She had looked through the menu before they came to their table and had found many good, affordable meals.

Once they were seated, he smirked at her.

"You should thank me you know. I could've chosen a more fancy restaurant and empty your wallet."

She turned red and looked away, too embarrassed to look at him. He must have seen her eyes light up at the sight of the prices.

"S-shut up..." She muttered, glaring heavily at the floor.

He then chuckled, embarrassing her even more.

"I'm joking. This place was my first option. I looked up some restaurants online that's in your budget and found this. It's well decorated and the food is amazing, or so they say but it's also reasonably priced." He explained, smiling at her.

She tried not to smile back and blush even more but she knows she already failed.

He based his options off of her. Who wouldn't be flustered? It was a sweet gesture.

But it was still embarrassing considering the fact that he adjusted his likings just so she can afford it.

"S-sorry... I promise I'll treat you to a fancier restaurant when I have good money."

"It's fine. This is more than enough." He smiled again and she tried not to blush at the sight.

Wait... why was she trying not to blush? And why was she about to blush anyway?

"Let's order." He said and reached over to grab the menu on her side of the table.

He leaned back in his chair as he scrolled through the options and didn't notice her slight confusion.

After the bill was paid, they left the restaurant and stood outside for bit, letting the food go down.

Anya sighed contentedly. That was the best meal she's had in ages.

Her family's cooking was great but it had been so long since she ate at a fancy place.

It was always the cheap ones she went to because it was more affordable.

"My driver should be here any minute now. I told him to circle around for at least 2 hours." Damian said, more to himself than her.
