~*Chapter 43*~ Cheer up! [Edited]

~Natsu's POV~

After Lucy was calm, I walked her to her apartment. She didn't say a word after she cried. I didn't want to ask her about Sting and Rouge yet. It must be because of them that she was sad. If they did, I will beat them up. When we made it to her apartment, she stopped at the front of the door.

"Lucy?" I asked her.

"I'm sorry." She said looking at the door. "I'm sorry. I didn't want you to see me like that." She said.

"It's okay Lucy. Really. Everyone has feelings right?" I said.

She didn't say anything. She didn't move. "Natsu?" I finally heard her say.

"Yes?"

She turns around and faces me. Her eyes are red and swollen. But it's slowly going away.

"C-Can you stay with me?... Just a little longer?" She asked. I jumped a little bit from the shock. My cheeks immediately heated up from her asking me this.

"Y-Yeah. Sure." I stuttered. Why did I stutter?! But I see her smiling a bit which made me feel a little bit relieved.

She began to unlock her door. When she opened the door, she turned on the lights and took off her shoes. "Make sure you take off your shoes too, Natsu." I heard her say. She sounded more calm though. Which is good. I take off my shoes and place my backpack on the ground. Lucy places hers next to mine.

"You can sit on the couch. I will tell you everything..." She said calmly. She sounded kind of depressed too but I nodded and sat on the couch.

"This couch is really comfy Luce." I said bouncing up and down a little on the couch. I see her smiling a bit. I can cheer her up while I'm at her house too. I honestly don't want her to be sad all the time. She is too kind and too happy to be sad.

"I'm going to change. Just stay here and relax."

After about 10 minutes or so, she walks out of the hallway and sits next to me, wearing her PJs. "Thanks Natsu for staying. I just..." She sighs. "I just don't want to be alone." Lucy said as she brought up her knees and wrapped them with her arms. I look at her face. Her face was pale and her eyes have a sad, depressing look on them. Then, I see her mouth is beginning to move.

"I will tell you what happened." She said.

She told me about her father bribing those two Sabertooth bastards to take her back home. She also told me that they were the ones who hurt her and injured her that night. The Sabertooth bastards also told her that if she can't go back home, bad things will happen to all of us. This made me angry. I wanted to go out in the middle of the night and beat them up so badly, but I can't. Her father might even hurt her more if I tried to attack them.

I clenched my fist into a ball. I can't even protect someone who is precious to me. It makes me sick.

I don't want her to leave... My side...

"So, I guess I have to go back home..." She said, looking down on the floor. I immediately grab her hand and pulled her into a tight embrace.

"Natsu?"

"Don't worry. I will protect you no matter what. You're not going to leave Magnolia." I said. I know it's a little bit selfish, but it's best if she stays here other than Fiore. I wrap my arms around her waists while she lays her head on my scarf.

"Thank you. Natsu." Then I see a smile on her face.
