~*Chapter 53*~ Humiliation

~Narrator's POV~

As Natsu continues to run in the dark hallway, his face shows anger and determination to get Lucy back. He then notices a faded light, which seems to be the end of the hallway. The light was showing through the door. Natsu slowly came to a stop and takes a deep breath. Not feeling slightly fatigued from the run through the long hallway, he gets himself prepared for the fight he's hoping for.

"STING!" He yells out in a battle cry and kicks the door to reveal the lit room. The first thing he sees made him shiver a bit. The light was illuminating through the glass window where he can see what was in the other room across from him. He sees Lucy, tied up on a chair with her stained dress. Her eyes met with his. Without hesitating, he quickly ran to the glass window.

"Lucy!" He looks around the room for a door of some sort or anything to go where she was. But there was nothing.

"N-Natsu!" Her voice shaken a bit.

"Hang on, okay?? I'll get you out of here!"

He looks around the empty room, but there was no way out to get to Lucy. He went back to the glass window and placed both the palms of his hands against it. Seeing Lucy's face made him feel a bit weak. Seeing her wounds made him anxious and worried. He wanted to get her out of here. He can tell her eyes has despair.

Lucy looks at Natsu with her shaken eyes as if she was about to cry again. "Natsu..." she looks down on the floor. "You have to leave right now."

Natsu's eyes widened. Those words echoed in his mind. He gritted his teeth. He punches the glass window, but not a single crack showed up. Lucy flinched by the sound. He clenched his fist against the glass window.

"There's no way in hell I'm going to leave you!" He yells, furiously. Lucy was shaken up by the demand he stated.

"N-Natsu..." They both stared at each other intensely. Lucy's heart started aching when he sees her in this state. She gasped at a shadowy sight of a figure behind Natsu.

"NATSU! BEHIND YOU!" She shrieked.

Natsu turns around really fast and gets hit by a chair behind his back. Natsu grunted by the enormous pain inflicted on his back and fell to the ground.

Lucy's eyes started to be filled with tears. "N-Natsu! Get up!"

Natsu winced at the pain and he slowly gets up from the ground.

"What's up, Salamander?" That evil familiar voice caught Natsu's attention.

"Sting!" He grunted in pain.

Sting shows up from the shadows and Rogue follows behind him. "Yo." He causally welcomes. Natsu gets in a fighting stance and looks at the two with a glare that can shoot out daggers.

"See Rogue? Told you that he would be like this." He points out while Rogue smirks.

"Let Lucy go or else-"

"Or else what?" Sting teases. Natsu glares at the two. He didn't want Sting to feel the satisfaction.

"Why do you want Lucy anyways?" Natsu asks, ignoring his question. He keeps his stance still to be prepared for any attacks.

"Well, you already know that she's a daughter of a millionaire, so try to fit the rest of the puzzle pieces together." Sting smirks.

Natsu thinks while he kept his bearing to hold his position. He thought about it and he finally knew why.

"You want her money..." he quietly said.

"BINGO!"

Natsu is furious. He had to let his mind speak for his own. "You killed someone dear to her and brought all this chaos just for some stupid green paper??"

"Now, don't be absurd. Money solves everyone's problems." Sting stated.

A vein pops out of Natsu. "You're insane. Money doesn't solve everything!"

"If so. But let's cut the chit chat. You are really getting on my nerves." Sting gets to a attack stance while Rogue did too.

"Heh, 2 against 1. I like a challenge." Natsu smirks, but quickly narrowed his eyes and got serious.

Sting and Rogue both charged at Natsu. Sting lunched for a punch and Rogue jumped to kick him. As Natsu analyzed their attack, he ducks Sting's punch and slides underneath Roue while he was mid air. Natsu quickly got up and kicks Sting on his back and punches Rogue so hard in the gut, he slid across the floor. Sting hissed at the pain while Rogue slowly got up having his hand over the pain on his stomach. Natsu stays on his defensive stance.

"You're still the mighty Salamander haha." Sting straightened his back and turns around to face Natsu. He winces at the pain. Sting looks back at Lucy and sees the frightening look in her eyes. He smirks at her just for teases. That look he gave her made her shiver. Natsu notices that.

"Hey! Focus on me!" Natsu yells at Sting to get that disgusting look Sting gave her.

"I'm just seeing how our audience is doing. It's a shame it's only one person spectating. She's enjoying the show at least."

"You sick bastard." Natsu said. Natsu looks at Lucy and the frightening look in her eyes. "Lucy! I'll be fine! Once I'm done here, we'll leave together! I promise!"

Her tears kept streaming down her cheeks and looks away from him and looks at the floor.

"Why do you want her money anyways??" Natsu questioned as he was slowly making a circle as he was slowly walking. Sting and Rogue did the same to be aware of his actions.

"We are sick of you and the rest of your dojo friends winning all the goddamn time. We would always get 2nd every. Single. Time." Rogue explained with anger.

"With the money we can use from little Lucy's Daddy and Lucy herself, we can buy the equipment to get ourselves better and even buy our way to victory!" Sting exclaimed.

Natsu revolted. The way they were explaining what to use money made Natsu very angry. To play around someone's life that way... Natsu stops circling and charged at the two in surprise.

He punches Sting and Rogue. He does a series attacks on them as they were shielding or getting hit by some of his attacks.

"YOU! PLAYING WITH SOMEONE'S LIFE THAT WAY! USING THEM FOR YOUR OWN SELFISHNESS!" Another combo of attacks hits on them. "MONEY ISN'T THE ANSWER TO ALL YOUR PROBLEMS YOU KNOW??"

Sting and Rogue pushes forward and hits him with a series of attacks as well. Natsu kept blocking them or getting hit by them. "You don't know the humiliation we've been through after continuously losing to you guys! You guys keep winning while we get boo'd at!" Sting exclaims.

Natsu counters back, but with much tougher attacks. "We keep winning because we keep working hard! We make each other stronger and stronger! We never gave up!" He continues laying attacks on them. His attacks were getting stronger that Sting and Rogue couldn't block them.

"I wanted to learn how to fight to protect the people I care about!" A heavy punch to Rogue hits him so hard, he flew across the room and got hit by the wall. "I wanted to learn how to fight to protect the people I love!" A heavy punch landed on Sting and the impact was so hard, it made the glass window break.

Natsu takes deep breaths from exhaustion and looks at the knocked out fighters. He clenches his fist. The image of his father came into his mind and his family and his friends came up as well. "Failure teaches you a lesson and you learn from the mistakes you've made. Learning them, you're unstoppable. Hope you've learned something."

He looks at the shocked Lucy and sees no sign of relief in the way she was looking at him. He sees her tears swelling up and streams down her wounded cheeks. He slowly goes through the shattered window and stands in front of Lucy. He puts on a cheeky grin.

"See? I told you I would come get you."
