"The Midland Psychiatric Institute. Do you have the number for them?"
"I'm sorry, I can't help you y/n."

Y/n's frustration began to mount as she spoke on the phone, her patience wearing thin. After a few moments of unhelpful responses, she slammed the phone receiver back onto the hook with a sharp, exasperated sigh.

She looked up at Johnny, her anger evident in her expression. "That girl useless," she fumed, her frustration palpable.

Johnny sighed in irritation at the unhelpful call and decided to give it another try. He inserted another quarter into the payphone's slot, and Y/n took the receiver back off the hook. She swiftly dialed a different number, hoping for better results this time.

The phone rang, and Y/n held her breath as she waited for someone to pick up. After a few moments, a voice came through on the other end.

"Hello?" a voice answered.

Y/n's face lit up with recognition, and she couldn't help but smile. "Hey, Sammie," she greeted warmly.

"Oh, y/n. Haven't heard from you in a second."

"Yeah. We really should catch up sometime, but, and I'm sorry to bother, but I really need your help right now."

As Y/n spoke to Sammie on the phone, she couldn't help but steal a glance up at Johnny. Her eyes met his, filled with a mix of hope and determination, silently conveying the significance of the conversation she was having.

"Oh, yeah, okay. What do you need?"

"Do you have the number for The Midland Psychiatric Institute?"

"What's the address?"

"Uh."

Y/n pressed the phone to her chest, muffling her conversation with Sammie for a moment. She turned to Johnny and sought confirmation, her voice hushed.

"Johnny, just to be sure, it's 1245 Elmwood Avenue, right?" She wanted to double-check the address to ensure they were on the right track.
Johnny nodded and gestured for her to put the phone back to her ear.
"1245 Elmwood Avenue."
"Give me a minute."

Y/n waited anxiously as Sammie searched for the information. After a brief pause, Sammie's voice returned, and she said, "Got it, y/n. The number for the Midland Psychiatric Institute is 432-556-7980."

Relief washed over Y/n, and she couldn't help but sigh in relief, her shoulders relaxing.

Y/n, speaking on the phone to Sammie, exclaimed, "Sammie, you're a lifesaver!" She continued to express her thanks to Sammie while gesturing to Johnny, signaling that they needed something to write with to note down the important phone number.

Johnny nodded, understanding the importance of the situation. He rushed into the truck and opened the glove box, searching for a notepad and a pen.

Johnny hurriedly retrieved the notepad and pen from the glove box and handed them to her, and she quickly jotted down the number. After finishing, Y/n tapped on the coin slot, signaling to Johnny that they needed to insert another quarter before making the call. Johnny reached into his pocket, pulled out a quarter, and inserted it into the payphone. Y/n then started dialing the Midland Psychiatric Institute.

The phone began to ring. She waited, her heart pounding, until someone on the other side picked up.

Johnny watched Y/n intently as she gripped the phone, her anticipation evident in her tight hold on the receiver.

Y/n said, "Hi," as she initiated the conversation on the phone. Johnny observed her expressions and listened closely, keen to catch any relevant information from the call.

Y/n continued the conversation, saying, "Yeah, I'm actually looking for a patient." She then turned to Johnny and asked, "What was her last name?"
"Sawyer."
"Nancy sawyer."

Johnny observed as Y/n's face suddenly brightened, a satisfied and hopeful expression crossing her features as she continued her conversation on the phone.

Y/n asked the person on the phone, "Are visitors allowed to see her?" Johnny listened attentively, waiting for the response on the other end of the line.

Johnny saw a range of emotions flicker across Y/n's face, from concern to disappointment. Finally, she sighed, thanked the person on the other end, and gently placed the phone back on the hook.

Y/n turned to Johnny with a sense of urgency in her voice. She broke the news to him, saying, "We only have a few more hours to get there if we want to see her." The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on both of them as they realized the limited time, but Johnny was just happy that she has a reasonable explanation for the time she was missing.
