The air felt heavy with anticipation as the wind rustled the leaves, whispering chilling secrets.
Nancy, driven by a mixture of desperation and a hint of resentment, urged Y/n to go inside the trailer first, her voice trembling with an undertone of malice. "You, go first," she shoved y/n slightly "Rather you than Johnny."
Y/n hesitated but reluctantly complied, her trembling hands pushing open the creaky door. The trailer's interior was dimly lit by the pale moonlight seeping through the cracked windows. The stench of decay and despair engulfed her senses.
She stepped inside cautiously, her heart pounding. Her eyes widened in horror as she scanned the cramped space. The faint light revealed a gruesome sight: a rotting body of a man, slumped in the corner, still clutching a gun in his decaying hand. Blood splatter adorned the trailer's walls, a macabre mural of the last moments of desperation.
Y/n's breath caught in her throat as a shiver ran down her spine. The night had taken yet another grisly turn, and the darkness concealed even more sinister secrets than they had ever imagined.
Feeling the overwhelming nausea and dread welling up inside her, Y/n bolted out of the trailer, pushing past both Johnny and Nancy, her mind reeling with the haunting images of the body she had just discovered. The gruesome memories mixed with those of Ana's lifeless, dripping, decayed body swaying on a meat hook, and the sheer horror became too much to bear. Her legs carried her a few more steps before she sank to her knees beside a cluster of bushes. Clutching her stomach, she retched violently, the contents of her stomach spewing forth in a grotesque symphony of wretchedness.
Each heave was accompanied by a guttural, desperate sound, as if her body was trying to purge itself of the terrible sights it had just witnessed. Tears streamed down her face, mingling with the vomit as she gasped for air between retches.
Johnny observed Y/n's distress with a mix of annoyance and concern. He knew that they were all being pushed to their limits, but he couldn't show any softness in front of Nancy. Nonetheless, his internal worry for Y/n was evident.
After Y/n's abrupt exit, Johnny cautiously made his way up the steps of the trailer. He clicked his tongue with an air of indifference as he laid his eyes on the grim scene inside.
"That's a shame," Johnny murmured with a detached tone, his emotions hidden beneath a facade of grim determination. He crouched down beside the body, examining the evidence of an apparent suicide with a calculating eye.
Johnny's eyes fixated on the gun as he reached down, carefully picking up the weapon and studying it. He checked the chamber, and a wry smile tugged at his lips as he realized that there had only ever been one bullet, the very one the man had used to take his own life.
In the grim silence of the moment, Johnny couldn't help but let out a low, humorless chuckle, his voice barely above a whisper. "Bastard," he muttered, the word dripping with bitterness and dark amusement. With a deft movement, he pocketed the gun, a grim keepsake from their macabre discovery.
Johnny carefully navigated through the cluttered and eerie space. Empty beer cans littered the floor, some crushed underfoot, evidence of past indulgence. The remnants of rotted food and general refuse lay scattered, as if the former occupant had long given up on maintaining any sense of hygiene.
Amidst the dimly lit trailer, with curtains drawn, Johnny discovered a towel that seemed only slightly stained, permeated with a faint odor of mildew. It would serve his grim purpose.
Approaching the body, he was confronted with a chilling sight. The man's form had merged with the trailer's floor, a gruesome consequence of the intense heat waves that had tormented Texas in recent times. It was a gruesome sight, and the stench of decay pervaded the space, assaulting Johnny's senses and causing him to momentarily gag. With a muttered comment, "There's worse..." he gingerly wrapped the remains in the found towel. Amidst this morbid scene, Johnny set about the task of carefully lifting the body from the trailer floor.
