Johnny and Y/n remained in the truck, the tension between them palpable. Y/n spoke up with a hint of remorse, "You know, maybe you should've grabbed my bag when you pushed me out."

Johnny let out a frustrated grunt, his hands slowly rising in a gesture of annoyance.

Johnny's gaze traveled up and down Y/n's tattered, tired, and sickly appearance. His eyes fixated on the chain wrapped around her leg. He let out a sigh and muttered, "You know how much shit I'm gonna get for this."

Y/n turned to Johnny, her expression earnest, and said, "We need that map, Johnny."
Johnny scrunched his face before starting the truck and whipping it around suddenly, causing Y/n to startle at the sudden movement.
The car ride left Y/n with a deep sense of impending doom. Despite being in the truck with her captor, it felt strangely better than the house of horrors that was Johnny's home, where she faced people much less sympathetic than him. The uncertain future weighed heavily on her, and she couldn't shake the feeling that escaping Johnny might lead her into an even darker abyss.

In the midst of her dread, Y/n couldn't help but appreciate the car ride and the scenery that passed by as if it were her last moments of freedom. The fleeting glimpses of the world outside the truck's window felt like a bittersweet escape from the nightmare she had endured, a reminder of the beauty that still existed beyond the darkness that surrounded her.

As Johnny drove, he couldn't shake the profound shift in his perspective. He found himself wrestling with an intense emotion - empathy. It was something he had rarely felt, especially for one of his family's victims.

While he couldn't deny the fear that still lingered in the pit of his stomach, he also couldn't help but feel a deep sympathy for Y/n. Her tattered appearance and the chain wrapped around her leg were stark reminders of the torment she had endured.
Johnny knew that they were heading into uncertain territory, but he couldn't ignore the unsettling realization that, in his own way, he wanted to help Y/n. It was a strange sensation, one that left him conflicted and anxious about what lay ahead.

The guilt that had haunted him since he first encountered Y/n only intensified with each passing mile. He couldn't change the past, but he could, perhaps, offer her a chance at a different future. And in that realization, Johnny's empathy, a rare and powerful emotion for him, continued to grow.

The truck's engine fell silent as Johnny parked it in front of the ominous family house. Its imposing presence sent shivers down Y/n's spine, a chilling reminder of the horrors she had endured within its walls.

The weathered exterior and darkened windows made the house look even more foreboding against the backdrop of overgrown vegetation that seemed to claw at its very structure.

Johnny gazed at the house with a mix of apprehension and determination. He knew they couldn't delay any longer and had to confront whatever awaited them inside. Despite his newfound empathy for Y/n, the weight of his family's dark legacy still burdened him.

Taking a deep breath, Johnny turned to Y/n. "We're here. Stick close, let's get what we need, and get out," he urged urgently. Time was not on their side, and they both understood the gravity of their situation.

Johnny and Y/n exchanged anxious glances as they watched Cook emerge from the house, his face contorted with anger. His furious shouting reached their ears, and Y/n's apprehension grew.

Realizing the danger of the situation for Y/n, Johnny turned to her and said with a tone of concern, "On second thought, it's better if you just stay here. It's not safe for you to come inside." He didn't want to expose Y/n to the danger of his family's unpredictable reactions, especially Cook, who seemed to be in a particularly foul mood.
