Eternally Bound (Neji x Reader)

okay so this fic is inspired by a Hindi movie called "Phillauri" and its one of my favorites so I got inspired to write a fic like it

In the hidden village of Konoha, love had blossomed between Neji Hyuga and Y/N. They were on the brink of starting a new chapter in their lives as they stood at the altar, ready to exchange their vows in front of friends and family. The sun bathed the serene landscape with its golden hues, a perfect backdrop to their love-filled ceremony.

Neji, with his usual stoic demeanor, gazed into Y/N's eyes, a soft smile gracing his lips as he held her delicate hand. Y/N, radiant in her wedding gown, couldn't contain her happiness. Her heart swelled with love for the man who had captured her heart.

But destiny had other plans. Just a day before their wedding, Neji was called upon for a top-secret mission, one that carried an immense risk. He knew he had to go, for the sake of the village, but leaving Y/N behind tore at his heart.

He whispered sweet promises to her, "I will return to you, Y/N. Nothing will keep me away from your side for long."

With a heavy heart, Y/N kissed him passionately, savoring the taste of his lips. "I'll be waiting for you, Neji, no matter how long it takes."

Neji's mission took him far away, deep into enemy territory. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. Y/N, filled with worry, clung to the hope that Neji would come back to her soon. But as the seasons changed, so did the rumors.

~ TIME SKIP ~

One evening, Y/N's friend, Sakura Haruno, couldn't bear to see Y/N's anguish any longer. She took a deep breath and said, "Y/N, there's something you need to know about Neji."

Y/N's heart pounded with fear. "What is it, Sakura?"

Sakura's voice quivered as she continued, "Neji... he won't be coming back."

Y/N's world shattered. "What? No, that can't be true! He promised he would return."

Sakura gently touched Y/N's shoulder. "I'm so sorry, Y/N. Neji... he died in battle."

Y/N's vision blurred as tears streamed down her face. She felt as if her world had collapsed. In her despair, she couldn't fathom that Neji had given his life for their village. Instead, she believed the worst – that he had abandoned her for someone else.

Unable to bear the pain, Y/N's despair consumed her. She killed herself, hoping to escape the torment of her broken heart.

As Y/N's life flickered away, a brilliant light enveloped her. She found herself in a tranquil, otherworldly realm, surrounded by a sense of peace she had never known. And there, standing before her, was Neji, radiant and alive.

"Y/N," Neji whispered, his voice filled with both joy and sorrow. "I'm so sorry you had to go through this pain."

Tears filled Y/N's eyes as she realized the truth. "Neji... you're here."

Neji nodded. "Yes, my love. We're together now, for all eternity."

In the afterlife, Neji and Y/N found solace in each other's arms. Their love had transcended death, and they were finally reunited, forever bound in an eternal embrace.
