"You two be careful with my books" said an old dainty looking man,

"Yes sir, we will protect them" Aarzu confirmed,

"Well sir, Aarzu will burn but won't let the fire touch your books", said Raina jokingly,

"And what will you do if she's burning?" asked the man,

"I'll search for water sir obviously, I'm a good friend", she said sarcastically,

"Mashaallah" said the old man

"It would be hot so i would need water to drink" Raina added,

He laughed loudly while the girls exited his cabin with a pile of books,

"Ibrahim sir looks so strict but man he's so humble" commented Raina while walking in the campus,

"Seems like somebody's calling me" Said Aarzu while searching for her vibrating phone,

"hello Assamualaikum? Yeah I'm coming home; what? Yeah- she's with me; what happened? Okay I'll tell her; Allah hafiz"

"Well you need to come home with me" said Aarzu,

"Why?"

"Your mom's at our place and she's calling you too"

"But why?"

"I don't know"

"I could've called hanif chacha"

"You don't wanna come?"

"Not like that jaani"

"Then come on"

"chalo phir"

The girls booked a cab and went home in duration of around 30 minutes, it usually takes them longer but fortunately there was no traffic on the busy streets and they went home quicker than usual.

They entered the house that was filled with laughter and chattering,

The mom's sitting on sofas talking about how gorgeous the designer from the other street sews the dresses and the dads sitting in a tense environment with cups of chai in their hands discussing about what political party is better for the country's growth;

It has always been like this, Raina's family became their only getaway when they were deprived of family love, her parents were kind enough to accept them and not only that, ever since Raina and Aarzu grew visibly closer, the families started inviting each other to the parties, be it weddings or baby showers or birthdays- they had each other, so it was normal for family meet-ups like these to take place.

"Assalamualaikum" said the two girls together,

"Hello my beautiful daughters" replied Imraan while shifting his position from the chair,

The girls greeted all the four elders in the room whilst Aarzu said, "ill change my clothes and come back", she turned towards Aarzu and said, "you wanna come?" to which she replied, "yeah but these samosas are hot, I'll put my hands on them first".

Aarzu went to her room while Raina started munching on perfectly cooked deliciously looking samosas, "Munira aunty where's the green chutney?"

"Beta it's over here, take"

Aarzu walked up to her room and closed the door, her hands hurting bt carrying all the weights of books.

She turned around and walked towards the bed to see her blue dupatta lying with a bouquet of lavenders perfectly placed on the side of her bed,

She picked them up and a note fell which said,

'I'm sorry for what happened that day,

I hope you forgive me, I had no idea it would happen.
