Aarzu opened her eyes. Raina was vigorously rubbing her palms to provide heat to her body. After a brief moment of gathering herself she realized what happened.
She got up and found herself of Adam's bed. A place where she thought she belonged but she didn't. Soha was laying on the same side Aarzu was, her body springed with itch. That bed became a garden a of thorns that pricked her skin.
She immediately dusted off the blanket that was on her feet. She rubbed herself and scanned the entire place.
"Aarzu!! Rest for a while", Adam told as he came to her picking up a glass of water.
His voice. It seemed like acid to her ears. The voice that she adored the most, the voice that would calm her down, the voice that made her feel loved was now making her feel miserable.
'Aarzu', she loved it whenever he would call her name. To her 'Aarzu' sounded like poetry when it came out of his lips. Now she hated herself for feeling that way.
"Aarzu, drink some water", He repeated again.
She looked at him, 'Is he the same man? Is he not ashamed?'
Adam knew that Aarzu would hate him by now but he loved her. He was completely blank. Aarzu had to know about it someday but not like this.
Aarzu looked away from him as if her eyes would fall out if she looked at him for 10 more seconds. "Raina...i thought you considered me your sister"
Regret and hurt filled Raina's voice, "Aarzu..." she stammered,
Aarzu who felt miserable at that moment shut her eyes as tight as she could, she continued, "we wanted to tell...""When?" She said loudly sitting straight on the edge of the bed,
Adam extended his hand to stop her, "Take some rest"
"DON'T", she strictly told him, "Don't touch me",
Adam already knew this would happen, as much as he thought that he was prepared, he actually wasn't. His heart trembled and he felt sick to his stomach.
Aarzu dusted off her clothes, "Infact i don't wanna stay on this bed nor in this room", she immediately got up. Her eyes fell on the frame that had a picture of lavenders. Tears filled the rim of her eyes and escaped as she took a quick breath to control them. They weren't in her control, her delicate body trembled with shock. Never in her wildest nightmares did she imagine this. All this time she dreamt of getting married to the man she was in love with.
Adam stood there helpless. His eyes lowered with shame and guilt. 'I wish i never went to Spain....i wish....'
'Why did you do this to me Adam? Why? I thought you loved me? I'm such a foolish idiot, i should've known....i don't deserve love....i never did...and you made me believe that i was capable of being loved. So why did you lie to me? All this time you were engaged? You cheated?' So many possible questions popped in her brain, her heart was completely shattered. The pain of heartbreak turned into physical hurt. Her chest throbbed as she realized that Adam was never hers. She was the other woman.
The first heartbreak from the man she loved. She was hurt before too but this time it was Adam. She handled herself quite well. On the verge of getting a heart attack, she composed herself and didn't dramatize the situation.
His sister tried to talk to Aarzu but she ran out of the room as fast as she could. Raina turned to the man who stood with the glass of water in his hands looking blankly at the carpet. "Bhai....?", he didn't respond. Raina thought it was better to leave leave him alone. She walked downstairs where Aarzu just went.
