Chapter 13: New Friends

Three months have passed since Doc Ock and Fisk were defeated once again. Liv was taken to Rykers and Fisk was taken to a special prison outside of New York where he will no longer be a threat to Miles, Gwen, and all of Brooklyn. Since then lots of things have happened, Miles and Gwen have officially tied the knot, they are happily married and living together in what they like to call "Casa Del Spidey". Miles was sitting at the dining room table on his laptop writing a paper for school when all of a sudden he heard Gwen yell, "Dammit!" Miles walked to the where Gwen was and saw that she was in the bathroom after taking a shower. Miles says, "What's wrong honey?" Gwen says, "I'm trying to put my hair in a ponytail but I broke my last scrunchie." Miles gets an idea, he says, "Well why don't you get dressed and you and I head to the mall, I need to get a new hairbrush while we're there too." Gwen says okay excitedly and Miles chuckles and kisses her cheek and says, "Let me know when your ready, I'll be writing my paper." Gwen says, "You got it hun."

After 15 minutes Gwen finally put on her makeup and gets dressed. She walked into the dining room and saw Miles still working on his paper. She smiles and walks to Miles, she wraps her arms around his neck and kisses his cheek. Miles melts into her from behind embrace and Gwen says, "Hey baby you done yet?" Miles says, "Almost, I just have a few more sentences I have to write." Gwen kisses his head and she let go of him and says, "Okay, I'll just be in the living room waiting." Miles says, "Okay babe, it shouldn't take but five more minutes." Gwen says, "Gotcha, I love you my smart handsome spider." Miles blows her a kiss and says, "And I love you my gorgeous sexy spider." Gwen giggles and leaves the dining room. About five minutes later Miles is ready to go. Gwen says, "So where should we go first?" Miles says, "Let's go to the mall so we can get you some more scrunchies and me a new brush." Miles takes Gwen's hand into his and they both head for the mall.

Miles and Gwen get to the mall and see a store called Harry's Hair Products. They both go into the store and Gwen sees some scrunchies that she wanted. She also sees a new hair dryer that she wants to get since her current one is old. She grabs it and then heads to the checkout. Miles also grabs a new hairbrush too before walking with Gwen to the checkout. The cashier says, "Alright yur total is $30.27." Miles pulls out his wallet and Gwen says, "Baby it's okay I can buy them." Miles holds her hand and says, "Gwen babe it's okay I got it. It was my idea to come to the mall, I just wanna treat my wife sometimes ya know." Gwen smiles, hugs him and says, "Thank you Miles, I love you so much." Miles says, "I love you too sweetheart." Miles hands the cashier the money but before the cashier could grab it, he starts to chuckle, loud enough to where Miles says, "Is everything okay sir?" The cashier says, "Yes everything's alright, it's just that..." At this point the cashier lifts his head and says, "Now why would I let my favorite niece and her husband pay for their stuff." Gwen says, "TOMMY!" Tommy comes around and hugs Gwen, Miles shakes his hand and says, "Well this is a surprise Tommy! I didn't know you worked here." Tommy says, "Well I just work here part time. Sure being a realtor pays a lot but you gotta have the extra income coming in just in case, right?" Miles says, "Yeah I hear that." Tommy says, "Well it's good to see y'all, so how's everything been since the wedding? Should I be expectin' a grand niece or nephew soon?" Gwen and Miles blush, causing Tommy to laugh. Tommy says, "I'm just kiddin y'all's! Seriously tho, y'all would have some really cute babies together." This makes Miles and Gwen smile and Gwen says, "Thank you Tommy." Tommy then says, "Now y'all kids run along have fun!" Miles says, "What about the money?" Tommy smiles and says, "Miles don't worry it's on the house, I get a full discount here, which means you guys get my discount too." They both say, "Thank you Tommy!" They both head out as Tommy says, "Anytime kiddos y'all have fun! I'll see y'all soon!" They both exit the store.

Miles and Gwen head to the food court to have lunch. Gwen went to get them silverware and napkins when all of a sudden she hears a whistle coming from next to her. You know the type of whistle that guys use to get girl's attention when they like what they see. Gwen turns around to see the guy who whistled at her. The guy says, "Hey gorgeous, you lookin' fine! Can I get your number?" Gwen says to him holding up her hand to show her wedding ring, "Sorry not happening. I'm already taken and I'm happily married to the greatest man in the world." The guy says, "Well why don't you leave him and be with me. I know for a fact that I'm twice the man he is." Gwen gives him a disgusted look. From the other side of the food court Miles sees that Gwen is talking to a guy and she looks heavily uncomfortable. Miles makes his way over to her and when he gets to her and kisses her head, wraps her arm around her waist. When Gwen felt Miles' presence she felt comfortable. Gwen feels better knowing Miles was there with her, she feels protected and safe when she feels his touch. Miles says, "Hey man I don't know who the hell you think you are but you do not talk to my wife like that ever. You fuckin' understand me?" The guy starts to walk over to Miles and says, "I will talk to her or anybody for that matter any way I damn well please." He puts his finger in Miles chest causing Miles to grab his hand strongly and twist it. Miles breaks his finger and says to the guy who is obviously in pain, "This is your last warning you piece of shit, you leave my wife alone. You stay away from my wife! I never want to see you talking to her and I never want to see you even look in her direction ever again and if you do, I will not hesitate to break more than just your other fingers! DO...I...MAKE...MYSELF...CLEAR BITCH!?" The guy says, "Okay yes yes I get it!" Miles let's go of him and the guy walks away. Miles doesn't know that he drew a crowd in and everyone applauded him for his actions. A few people yelled out, "YEAH TAKE THAT FLASH! FUCK YOU FLASH!" This caused Miles to smile and Gwen hugged into him and said, "Thank you Miles, I knew you'd always protect me. I love you so much!" Miles says to her, "Of course I would baby, it's my job to protect you from anything and everything, especially punks that try to hit on my wife, or any guy that tries to hit on my wife for that matter." Gwen smiles, happy knowing Miles is there for her when she needs it. They both make their way back to their table to eat their lunch.
