Chapter 20: Till Death Do Us Part

Four hours go by and everyone is still waiting on any type of news about Gwen and the baby. Since then all of the spider fam came in support and excitement to see the new Spider Woman be born. Rio then comes out and says, "Gwen is okay and the baby girl is healthy and adorable." They all go up to Rio and hug her, Miles then says, "Can I go in and see them?" Rio says, "Yeah of course, Gwen did fall asleep after giving birth so she should be still asleep when you walk in." Everyone let Miles go in by himself so he could see his newborn daughter. Miles walks in to see the baby in a little bed sucking her thumb and sees Gwen still sleeping peacefully. Miles quietly walks in and picks up his baby. He cradled her and says, "Hey babygirl, I'm your daddy, I am so happy to finally meet you. Mommy is asleep right now but she'll be up in a little bit so you can meet her too. I love you so much babygirl and I promise you, as long as I am alive and breathing, nobody will ever hurt you." He then kisses the baby's forehead and gently sits her back in the little bed. He sits on the couch and waits for Gwen to wake up when all of a sudden Gwen starts to twitch very strongly and her heart monitor starts beeping like crazy. Miles gets up and yells out the door, "MOM! SOMEBODY HELP!" Rio and her team rush in and Miles says to Rio, "Mom please tell me she's going to be okay." Rio says, "She'll be fine, just stand outside the hallway and we'll help her."

Twenty minutes go by and Miles is pacing around the hallway. Rio comes out and Miles says, "Mom please tell me she's okay!" Rio with red eyes says, "Miles, Gwen had a very bad seizure and it was very aggressive." Miles says, "What does that mean?" Just then a member of Rio's team comes out crying. Miles puts two and two together and starts to cry. Miles says through tears, "Don't tell me my wife is dead." Miles sniffles and says, "Please for the love of god don't tell me my wife is dead." Miles slowly walks backwards to the wall and slowly slumps down to the ground and bawls into his lap. Rio runs to him and hugs him and cries with him too. Everyone comes over to see them like this, George says, "What happened!?" Rio says, "I'm so sorry George, but Gwen had a very bad seizure in her sleep, and unfortunately we lost her. We tried giving her CPR and we tried all we could, but it was too late" George and Tommy along with the rest start to cry. George quickly goes into Gwen's room and shuts the door. Jeff started to walk up and Rio says, "Give him some space Jeff, he just lost his daughter, he needs some time to say goodbye."

After a little George comes out in full tears, he walks out and gives Miles a hug, he says to him, "Miles I am so sorry." After breaking the hug, Miles says, "Where's my daughter!?" Rio says, "We put her in another room and my team is watching her." Miles starts to leave and Jeff says, "Miles where are you going?" Miles yells, "WHAT! CAN A MAN NOT GO OUT AND GET SOME FRESH FUCKING AIR AFTER LOSING HIS WIFE!? Miles leaves the hospital and Peter says to Jeff and Rio, "He'll be okay, this is a lot to take in. He'll be okay I'm sure of it."

Miles leaves the hospital and swings to his apartment. When he gets there he lands in his room and sits on his bed. He throws everything in sadness and in anger, a lamp, his sketchbooks, everything he could get his hands on. After his destruction, Miles sees a picture of him and Gwen at the sunflower field. He holds that picture to his heart and bawls. After bawling for hours, Miles hears his phone going off, he couldn't find it but then he finds it under his bed from his destruction and he sees that it's Peter. He answers it and says, "Pete I'm so sorry for yelling at you guys earlier." Peter quickly says, "Miles come back to the hospital." Miles says, "Why?" Peter says, "It's Gwen..........she's alive!"
