Chapter 19: It's Time!

A few more months have passed, Miles and Gwen were out doing their bi-weekly grocery trip and getting extra so they could stock up for when the baby arrives. Gwen's bump has gotten bigger and bigger than before. Since the bump has gotten bigger, Gwen has been saying that she looks horrible and that she's sorry that Miles was married to her. That night Miles said, "Honey listen, you are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. This is just our baby inside of you, please don't think for one second that you look horrible. You're not Gwen and you never will. And don't say sorry that I'm married to you, I'm not sorry nor will I ever be, I married you because I want to share the rest of my life with you. You're my best friend Gwen and the love of my life, I love you so much." Gwen laid in his arms, comforted not just by the words he said, but that fact that she's married to the greatest man in the world and she married to the soon to be greatest father in the world.

Present day at the grocery store, Miles and Gwen were in the cereal aisle when all of a sudden Gwen felts a pain in her stomach, it goes away after a while and Miles asks, "Babe you okay?" Gwen says, "Yeah just a little pain that's all." They get what they need and head back home. A couple hours later Miles is sitting on the couch and Gwen walking to the couch from their bedroom when all of a sudden she feels something wet on her legs. She looks down to see water leaking down her legs and a massive puddle on the ground under her. She drops her coffee cup on the ground, shattering it and getting Miles' attention. Miles gets up and says, "Gwen what's wrong!?" Gwen looks at him and says through the pain with a small smile, "Honey it's time, our babygirl is coming." Miles immediately picks her up bridal style and carries her to their car. On the way to the hospital he calls Rio and Jeff, Rio says she's at work and she'll get a guerney ready and Jeff said he would meet them there.

When Miles gets to the hospital he sees Rio and her team ready in the hall to take her to where she needs to go. Miles gently sets Gwen on the gurney, grabs her hand for comfort and says to her, "Honey it's finally happening, we're going to be parents soon! I love you so much!" Gwen kisses his hand and says, "I love you too Miles, try not to do anything crazy while I'm gone." Miles chuckles and says, "Don't worry baby, I'll just be out here in the lobby waiting until they tell me I can come in." Miles gives Gwen one last goodbye kiss before the wheel her into the operating room. Rio stays behind for a few moments so Miles could say, "Thank you ma, please take care of her." Rio hugs him and says, "Don't worry mi hijo, you know she's in great hands with me. I love you mi hijo." Miles says, "I love you so mama." Rio heads back with her team to the operating room. Miles sits with Jeff in the lobby and out of the corner of his eye, Jeff sees Miles biting his nails. He says to him, "You alright Miles?" Miles says to him, "Yeah I'm fine, just worried is all." Jeff patted his shoulder and said, "Son you have nothing to worry about, your daughter is going to be brought in this world safely and Gwen will be safe too, especially since your mom is with her." Miles says, "You're right, thanks dad." Just then George and Tommy barge in and say, "Did we miss anything!? Did she have the baby yet!?" Miles chuckles and says, "No not yet, my mom just took her into the operating room." They both sigh in relief and sit down next to Miles and Jeff waiting for good news with Gwen and the baby.
