Chapter 21: I Can Go Back?

After Gwen Was Pronounced Dead:

Gwen woke up to find herself in some dream state, she didn't know where she was, so she yelled, "Hello!? Is anybody there!?" Just then she saw someone from a distance, she slowly walked to them, and when she got close enough to them she stopped. The person said, "You made it Gwen!" Gwen didn't recognize her voice, but when the lady got closer to her Gwen noticed that she looked exactly like her. Then the lady smiles and says, "What? Can't give your own mother a hug?" Gwen's eyes widen and she says, "Mom?" She instantly runs up to her and hugs her. They hug for a few moments until Gwen says, "Mom where am I?" Helen says, "Well that's an easy answer, you're dead."

Gwen is heartbroken, why was she dead? Why did she die giving birth? She's sad knowing that she left family and a newborn baby behind. Helen said, "Sweetheart relax, Miles and your baby are okay. Sure Miles' heart is shattered but he is okay." Gwen yelled, "How is this okay! I died giving birth and now he has to bear with it and take care of our child without me for the rest of his life! How is that okay!" Helen hugs her to calm her down, she quietly says, "Sweetheart, take a walk with me. I want to show you something."

30 Minutes Later

Helen showed Gwen her life in a nutshell before she died, and Helen tells her about how proud of her she is that Gwen is Spider Woman. They get to talking for mere hours about things and catching up. After they were done talking Gwen starts to tear up, Helen says, "Sweetheart what's wrong?" Gwen says, "I'm just a little upset, I didn't ask to die during childbirth, and I can't bear knowing that Miles has to live the rest of his life taking care of our daughter without me. I can't stay here mom, I need to go back to my husband and my baby. spend one more minute with my husband and baby." Helen then says, That's all I needed to hear." Gwen looks at her mom and says, "What do you mean?" Helen says, "Gwen when I told your father I was pregnant, we had such plans, we thought everything out, we couldn't wait to spend everyday with you. But then it was all ruined when I died after giving birth to you. I will spend the rest of eternity feeling sorry for your father that he had to take care of you alone. But you know what, he did such an incredible job." Helen goes to Gwen, cups her cheek and says, "My little girl is all grown up. I can't let what happened to me be your outcome as well." Helen hugs Gwen and says, "So, are you ready to be a mother?" Gwen then says, "Wait, I can go back!?" Helen smiles and says, "You can and you will, as long as you do one thing for me. Never forget me. I'm sorry I was never there when you were growing up, but I need you to promise me that the moments we spent together today, you'll never forget. And please love and care for Miles and your daughter always, and just know that I'll always be here watching over you when you need me." Gwen wipes her tears and says, "I promise mom." She again hugs Helen and says, "I love you mom." Helen says, "I love you too Gwen." Just then Gwen disappears and her soul gets transported back into her lifeless body. She starts breathing heavily and notices that she is still at the hospital in an empty room. She starts crying and yells, "MILES!"

Present Time:

Everyone is outside of Gwen's room still upset when all of a sudden they hear, "Miles!" They all couldn't believe it. They all rushed in and saw Gwen crying in her bed, they all ran up to her and hugged her. After a few moments Rio said to Peter, "Peter call Miles and tell him Gwen woke up." After getting the call about Gwen, Miles quickly swung to the hospital. When he gets there he found Gwen's room, he opened the door and saw Gwen sitting on the bed with everyone else standing in the corner. Gwen sees Miles and slowly gets out of the bed. Miles starts to bawl and runs up to Gwen and hugs her very tightly. He bawls into her shoulder and couldn't stop. After a little Gwen says, "Breathe Miles, it's okay I'm here and I'm not going anywhere." Miles says, "I know, just please stay here and never let me go." Gwen says, "I won't, I never will." They held each other for a long time and Rio told everyone quietly along with her that they should leave the room and give them their privacy.

After breaking the hug, Miles says, "I-I-I still can't believe it. Please tell me I'm not dreaming. Please for the love of god tell me this is real." Gwen kisses his lips very passionately. They break the kiss and Gwen says, "Convinced?" Miles says to her, "Hmm I don't know I think I still need more convincing." Gwen giggles and kisses him again. They break the kiss once again and Gwen could see that he was still a little shaken up, so she takes Miles' hands into hers and says, "Miles, im so sorry about what happened. I know I can't take back what happened. But im here now and never ever going anywhere again. I love you so much Miles and I always will." Miles says, "Babygirl it's okay, I'm just happy knowing you're still here with me. I love you so much too Gwen." Just then they hear a knock at the door and Miles says, "Come in." Everyone walks in and Rio is holding the baby. Gwen starts to tear up, this is the first time she's seen her baby. Rio gave Gwen the baby and Gwen started to cry, she says, "Hey babygirl, I'm your mommy, I'm so sorry about what you had to see earlier but mommy is always going to be here with you." She shows the baby to Miles and says, "And this is your daddy. He is the most amazing person I've ever met. He does so much for me and I know he'll do so much for you too." Miles says, "You bet sweetheart." Peni says, "Have you guys thought of a name yet." Gwen and Miles both look at each other and smile and say together, "Charlotte Sofia Morales." Everyone awws and hugs them both. Finally after months and months of crime and saving the world, Miles and Gwen are happy that they are finally at peace.
