Chapter thirty six: No place i'd rather be

Sunshine's pov:

Timeskip

Today i'm supposed to go talk with Copia. I have an hour before i'm supposed to go. I have been talking with Copia a few times, after returning to the church. I think the talking sessions have been helping a little, or i don't know.

        Aether has been shadowing me the whole time, we've been back here. I feel bad for him, i feel like he has been missing so many things because of me.

         "Hey Sunny, was it today when you went to see Copia" Aether asked. "Yeah, why?" I asked. "Do you think it's okay if i go with Mountain, Swiss and Sodo tonight?" Aether asked. "Of course you can go." I said. "Are you sure?" Aether asked. "Yeah, of course." I said. "Just say Sunny if it's not okay?" He said.

        "Aether, i'm not gonna stop you from going. I think it's great that you spent time with someone else other than me. I need to get used to being alone too." I said. Aether sighed. "Okay, but i'm going to be back before you go to sleep." He said. "That's a deal." I smiled.

         "I'm going to tell them that i can come, don't be late from your and Copia's meeting." He said, placing a kiss over my head. "Yeah" I laughed. With that Aether left the room and headed out of the room, closing the door behind him.

          I decided to quickly change my clothes before going to see Copia. I put on a pair of light blue jeans and black oversized hoodie.

          About 10 minutes before our meeting, i left the room and started to walk towards Copia's office. I knocked on the door quietly and waited for Copia to come open.

          Soon after the door swung open. "Oh hey Sunshine, come on in." Copia says, opening the door wider. "Go ahead and sit down." He pointed. "Thank you." I whispered, sitting down on the chair next to Copia's desk.

          "So how are you doing Sunshine?" Copia asked. "Just okay, i guess." I said. "Tell me more." Copia said. "Well i don't know what to tell you. Everything has been fine" I said. "You have been back here for a few weeks now, how have you been feeling about that?" He asked.

           "I don't know, it's been pretty hard, especially when everyone is acting like nothing happened." I said. "That's understandable, the others didn't go through what you did. Have you been talking to them about your feelings?" He asked.

         I shook my head no. "To Aether?" He asked. "Well something, but i feel like if i don't get better he is never going to be able to continue his life like normal." I answered. "What do you mean "Continue his life"?" Copia asked.

        "After we came back here, he's been following me everywhere i go. Don't get me wrong, i don't mind that, but he is missing out on so many things only because he feels like he needs to watch me." I explained.

         "Wouldn't you do the same for him?" Copia asked. "Of course i would, but... I feel such a burden for him." I said. "I'm sure he doesn't see it like that." Copia said. I just sighed.

         "What about your wounds?" Copia asked. "What about them?" I asked. "They are healing just okay?" He asked. "Umm, i guess so." I said. "You still haven't been able to look at them?" Copia asked. "No." I whispered.

         "Sunshine, i think it would be important that you would look at them. It would help you to accept them and it would help you to process all this." Copia says. "I don't want to." I whispered.

         "Has Aether seen them?" He asked. "Once." I said. "Sunshine, the longer you are avoiding this, the longer this is going to hunt you." Copia says. "I know." I sighed.
