Thanks to the storm they had lost a whole days worth of travel. To add to this, the ground had become incridibly muddy making it almost impossible for them to keep the fast pace needed to catch up.

They had to greatly slow their ride, after one of the Loverne knight's horse slipped in the mud, coming around a turn. Thankfully the knight wasnt much hurt, and had only sustained what felt like a broken wrist. They pulled over for a moment to check the horse while Elara healed the knights wrist.

After usuing her magic to heal him she informed him that she was also going to wrap it and that he should refraim from using it to exsess in case something didn't heal properly.

He thanked her and mounted back on his horse.

Elara somehow found herself riding next to Gabel, which was not where she had begun her ride.

This seemed to have agitated her commander, Philip Weston, for he positioned his horse right in front of them.

Elara thought perhaps he wanted to hear any conversation they would have.

Even though her commander often treated her as if she were an imbecile, he had actually made a pass at her once. This was three years ago when she was first placed with the Loverne knights as their mage. He came onto her during a campaign.

Elara of course had refused him.

She had expected to be released from his order the next day but to her surprise he never spoke of the incident and acted as if it never even took place.

She snapped out of her thoughts when Gabel moved his steed even closer to hers.

What was he doing? It was clear her commander positioned himself there for a reason. Why would Gabel make the situation worse.

Gabel turned his head towards her and spoke loud enough for her easdropping leader to hear, "Have I told you how lovley you look today my lady? If not then that is a grave mistake on my part."

Hebaron who was riding nearby, let out a short  hearty laugh.

Elara's face flushed.

Sensing what he was up to, she decided to end it before he made a larger issue.

Straightening her back she spoke in a haughty voice, "My good sir lying to a lady is not the knightly thing to do, save your charms for a woman who has not spent the night in a dirty forest."

Gabel chuckled then clicked his tongue, "I speak no mistruths to you I swear, you are so ravishing I may fall off my steed."
Hebaron let out another amused laugh.

Elara went to retort Gabel's coment but before she could Philip Weston glanced over his shouler and shouted, "Stop this foolish behavior! We are here to do a job for our king, not to sweet talk simple mages!"

Gabel shook his head with a sly smile on his lips, "Ha, simple aye?"

Elara felt her chest tighten. She could tell her commander was fuming.

"Elara is my mage! If I so command it, she will cease all interactions with you boy. I sugest you stop trying to sweet talk her into your bed and focus on our Kings orders."
