The next couple of months flew by.

Unfortunately Gabel hadn't been able to spend as much time at home as he use to. In fact, there were several nights were he was unable to even return home at all. On the nights that he was able to, he would spend every second holding Nura and playing with Cassian.

Judith stayed for two months after Nura's birth. The adjustment was much harder than Elara had anticipated.

At the end of the second month of her stay, Judith accompanied by two Remdragon knights traveled back home to Loverne.

Upon Judith's departure Maximillian, who was now nearing the end of her third month of pregnancy, sent a young maidservant named Emma to live at the Lachzion house. Though Elara was very much against the idea of having a maid, she also couldn't refuse the extra help. Especially with her starting back up at the infirmary.

Each day she would rise early and have breakfast with Cassian. After she would wrap Nura on her chest and head to the infirmary, leaving Cassian at home with Emma.

A maid would come and take Nura, so that Elara could work, then bring her back when she needed to nurse.

Maximillian too maintained her schedule at the infirmary. Lord Calypse would often stop by and check up on her or bring her food.

Elara would sometimes watch them from across the room. Finding it hard not feel the sting of jealousy. She saw less and less of Gabel and desperately missed his company.

Two months had already passed since Nura's birth and he hadn't made any advances towards her.

Though she knew it was still in the time frame that he had been told he would have to wait, she still thought it strange that he hadn't even tried to touch her.

Was he not also dying with need?
Did he no longer desire her the way he use to.

It was mid day and Lord Calypse had come once again to check up on Maximillian.

Elara smiled and left the infirmary, giving the couple privacy.

She leaned her back against a stone wall and watched as several squires and junior knights walked across the grounds.

"Good day Lady Lachzion!" One of the junior knights yelled out, a boyish smile edged on his youthful face.

"Good day."

The junior knight held an arm out towards her and continued.
"Beautiful day is it not? Almost as beautiful as yo..."

"Oi! Shut your trap and leave my wife alone!"
Suddenly Gabel walked up behind the boy and pushed him on the back.

The lad let out a chuckle and continued on with the group of knights.

Gabel turned and flashed a smile, making his way over.

"Hello my love..what a special treat this is."

He reached out and grabbed her hand, bringing it to his lips.

"I am sorry I wasn't able to come home last night. We didn't finish till late and then I had to.."

Elara cut him off,  "It's alright Gabel...I know that you have been.. busy."

He squinted his eyes, seeming to be studying her face.
"Yes, but that is no excuse. You have been very busy too."

He brought her hand to his lips once more.

"It will not always be this way. In fact I believe I shall be released early today. Perhaps I will come to the infirmary and get you so we can ride home together? You have Nura with you yes?"
